Here you go at @PurplePride92...this is a good, solid set of clubs right around the price you said you were looking for, with hybrids for the long irons (which should really help you being a beginner). Free shipping. Will be extremely hard to find a better deal, if there is one out there on new, brand names clubs.

Have a set of Taylor Made's if you want to spend a little more money for $299.00, but these Adams should do exactly what you want.

Adams Blue Combo Irons Set (Graphite/Steel/7 Pieces) by Adams Golf - Golf Iron Sets

By the way, I have used these guys a bunch and am actually getting an Adams 3 wood in the mail today that I just ordered.

I just ordered this set of clubs off of Amazon.

Reviews said it is a great starter set and I got it for 201.18 off of Amazon. It doesn't have the 2-4 irons so I'll use my old ones until I feel the urge to replace them. I figured as much as it costs for a whole set of irons that this 12 piece set would suit me fine for a couple of years.

Or...I just built you a set on-line @PurplePride92 at Hireko Golf...Acer HS High Trajectory...these are super game improvement irons...$206.15. Shipping will be a few more bucks, maybe $20.00 or so. Put the same shafts that I have in mine that I REALLY like. Can upgrade grips (if you want a certain color or something) for a few extra bucks. Just a thought. This kind of stuff is fun for me.

That will probaqbly suit your needs just fine.

I'd shelve the 2-4 iron though, you don't need to be swinging those anyway, find you a couple of used hybrids to replace those.

2-4 iron hybrids?

I appreciate it but I was looking to buy something with my recognition money from work and my shopping choices were limited. I converted my recognition money to Amazon gift card and got my whole new set of clubs for free. :D

2-4 iron hybrids?

Yes, a newbie/high handicapper has no business trying to hit low lofted irons like that, especially in this day and age with hybrids. Just going to frustrate you. Look around and research the hybrids out there...some look more like an iron, some look more like a fairway wood. There are fans of both and both are far easier to hit than the traditional low lofted iron, but I think the fairway wood style hybrids are a little easier to hit of the two, and most would agree.

The clubs in pap's bag are:

Driver

3-wood

3-hybrid

4-hybrid

4 iron through PW

SW, LW (still can't find a gap wedge I like)

Putter

These are what got me started last year. I've since upgraded but they were good enough to get me hooked.

And ol' Pap swings each of them 3-4 times a hole, so he definitely got his money's worth.:lol2:

Played Greenbrier in Lexington today. There aren't many golf courses in KY I could play everyday, but that's one of them. Absolutely awesome golf course.

Shot 82 from the tips. Really wasn't that bad considering I played three holes 6 over.

Played with a guy that started double, double and then played the next 16 holes 7 under. It was fun to watch.

Played the Mill Course today in Cincy. Fun course, not especially long or hard (70.7 course rating and 121 slope from the back tees, which I played...so not the hardest course). Had my 3rd best round ever in relation to par. I shot a 71 - even par (2 birdies and 2 bogeys). I have only broke par twice in my life - 2 under at Lassing Pointe in NKY and 1 under at Deer Run in Cincy. FUN DAY TODAY:banana:!!!!

Sadly, the putter is used WAY too often.

Playing Valhalla Wednesday morning, haven't played in several weeks due to the fish biting so well. Walking with a caddie, first time I've played the course. Hope I don't embarrass myself.

My set came in yesterday.

It has a driver, 3 wood, 5 hybrid, 6-9 iron, PW and putter.
