Anyone been on it lately? Was there about a month ago. The course proper was probably in the best shape I have seen it in the past 4-5 years, as long as you aren't in a bunker. Bunkers here seem to get very little if any work and have a lot of rocks and very little sand in them. I heard a new owner took over recently and is supposed to be taking better care of the property. They are shrinking some of the bunkers and have planted grass, some of which might be coming up now. Overall you should be happy with the course if it's in the same shape I played it in.

Here's what was there: Taylormade 12* Aeroburner, regular shaft Taylormade 18.5* RBZ Tour hybrid, Aldila 85X hybrid shaft Dunlop Tour Black 3 wood (department store club) Nike VRS Covert 315 fairway wood, regular flex Callaway X Hot 22* 4 hybrid, regular flex Taylormade rac 4-PW irons, 5.5 steel rifle shafts Powerbilt stand bag Once I determined that the price was $25 for the bag and contents (and not for choice of clubs), they became mine. A fellow golf club enthusiast and picker was about five minutes too late.

The Aero still has a $219.99 price sticker on it. I'll give them a test drive next week, if I can't play with them I'll piece them out on eBay for about $200 or so.
June 4, 201610 yr Just moved into my vacay home at Woodson Bend. Closed on may 10th. Condo sits on,overlooks the 6th hole a Par 3. Play nearly every day. Shoot upper 80's. I have had two eagles in two days. I haven't had one in 10 years. Chipped both in. My game is Bi-Polar. Finished final four today Birdie, double, double, eagle
June 6, 201610 yr Took the new (for me) clubs for a test drive this morning. The 12* Aeroburner - not appreciably different from my 10.5* Taylormade driver. I may sell this one, although I'll give it another round or two. Nice to know that I can triple my money on all the clubs if I decide to sell just this club. The Nike Covert 3-wood, I love it. Hit the RBZ 3-hybrid once; jury still out. Hit the Calloway 4-hybrid 4 or 5 times, definitely a keeper. Looks like I'm getting 10 yards more with the RAC irons. I never did hit the ball high, so the low ball flight is no bother. I'll probably have to open the long irons up just a shade. All in all - a great $25 investment; and the stand bag is staying with me as well.

June 7, 201610 yr Played the Men's game today at Woodson Bend. Played awful and shot a 93. Did not make one putt. Shot 85 yesterday and made lots of putts. There's the game for me.

June 7, 201610 yr Just ordered me an 18 deg driving iron, custom made, same place I ordered my heads/shafts from a couple weeks ago. It's pretty much a hybrid that looks more akin to an iron. Upgraded the shaft a little over what I have in my iron set...same manufacture and style, but a new model that supposed to fit hybrid clubs really well. Hoping this will fill a gap between my 4 iron and 3 wood (it definitely should, huge gap there) and will help on those longer par 3's as well as shorter par 4's and 5's where I look more for accuracy off they tee rather than out right distance, and those holes where I may have a longer approach shot than I can comfortably try and get my 4 iron to. How are you liking this club? I'm thinking about getting a driving iron, too.

I'm not playing enough to move my hdcp, so I'm a sitting duck right now for my vulturous (may have made that up) buddies. 78, 83, and an absurd 44/38 82 on Sunday. Outside of the 1st round, I'm throwing the party for the foursome every time out. Putting them away for 2 weeks, will play one more practice round before Chippeways in Maysville the 24-26, and if I feel like this on June 27th they are going away for the year. I'm officially on the ledge.
