Ok, lets get the golf talk started for the year. I just bought several items from rockbottomgolf during their big sale, getting them delivered tomorrow. Got me a new Adams Speedline Super S 3 wood. After using a couple of rental 3 woods last year while in FL I felt I just wasn't getting the same distance from the current 3 wood, face just wasn't as hot, this should fix that.

After years of using the same putter, broke down and got a Ray Cook Tunnel Vision Chameleon. Looked good, liked the design and the price was just right. Those were the 2 big items...also got a 1,000 count bag of tees, a club brush cleaner combo, some more Ray Cook rain gloves (got a pair last year and love them, wear them all the time cause I sweat a lot when I play and regular gloves become useless) a glove keeper and a tool to replace your golf spikes.

Speaking of spikes, I have never replaced any and need to...can any brand fit any shoe or do you have to buy certain ones? Was going to buy some spikes as well but I wasn't sure what to get.

Go easy on the club brush. I've found the steel brush side sometimes damages the club finish.

Trying to get to Golf Show this weekend in Cincy.

Played a couple Saturdays ago in 35 degree weather, but sun was out, so not too bad.

The spikes can be a real pain if they have been in the shoes awhile. Try to pop one out and take it to the shop to match up.

Got my golf order in yesterday...by the way if you haven't tried Rock Bottom Golf, you need to. 3 wood looks and feels great, can't wait to try it out. Putter looks good and feels good, has the weight I like (mallet type)..has a unique aiming alignment feature to help you get the face aligned on target. 1,000 count bag of tees...dang that's a lot of tees, won't have to buy any for quite a while. Anybody need a tee? I got plenty. Bright colors too so you won't miss them that's for sure. All the other stuff looks good as well, threw it all I my trunk this morning.

Did anybody get to go to the Cincy golf show? It usually a good place to go and you can get some GREAT DEALS on clubs as a lot of the local shops take last years products up that they still have and mark them way down so they have room to stock up on this years products.

I clarify myself as a bonafide club-ho and spend an unreasonable amount of money on golf clubs each year. It's not because I think buying new clubs will help me play better, I just really like new things. It's a problem.

I had hoped to get there, but too much going on the homefront. A buddy of mine got new Taylor Made RS1 irons there. I'm thinking his handicap gets adjusted down a couple ticks to start the year, just in case. :D

Ok guys, first golf rounds are just a few weeks away. Though I did walk 5 holes a couple of Sundays ago when we had those mid 60's temps, and didn't do too badly either, had a couple of pars.

Ordered me some new iron heads last week, they should be in some time this week. Taking them to my local course and having the pro there put them on and re-grip my clubs while he's at it. The heads I had on the shafts were about 11 years old and weren't the most forgiving ones in the world to begin with. I think these will be quite a step up and more "lively" than the ones I currently have, hoping to add a few yards to each club. Here they are if you want to take a look.

I'm thinking maybe going to Man O' War Golf in Lexington and getting fitted for a new set of irons, maybe TaylorMade or Calloway and get shafts and heads that are suited for my swing speed. I've played with a set of hybrid Cleveland irons for the past 8 years but I want to get away from hybrid irons. Also may do the same with my 5 and 3 woods. I've lost a few strokes off my game the past two years and gotta at least try to change something. Of course, a little extra practice may not hurt either,:D

I just want my son to buy some so I can have mine back.

Good luck with that.

I'll just have to buy my son some so I can have mine back.

Fixed that for you...

63 degrees and Sunny on Saturday boys . . hit the links!

Had my best round in 5 years two weeks ago at Elks Run. I'll probably blow this week, ugh!

It's a swamp around here right now. But, if it gets as warm as it's supposed to be Friday, get a little wind...it might be about right by Saturday afternoon. Not sure if I will be able to play or not though. My new heads come in Friday, got to take them to my club pro to put them on for me. Might have to wait a day or two though so I can get a few holes in his weekend.

I'm 26 holes in this year. I'll get to at least 43 Saturday depending on one hole at the home course. I love winter in KY.
