I'm getting ready to go tee it up. Meeting some buddies at Cynthiana CC. Should be interesting.

I played Blue Ash GC in Cincy a few weeks ago when we had a warm Sunday. Playing Legendary Run tomorrow...cannot wait! Two of the best public courses in Greater Cincinnati in February. Life is good!

Agreed! Both are great tracks.

Played 5th round of the year this weekend (Saturdays have been good weather wise). Although, this was the worst conditions yet as the course (Boone Links) was very soggy. A lot of plugged balls & walking through slop. Great to get out though. Had an Eagle for first time in about 5 years.

Played first round Saturday at Becky Pearce, the muni., in Huntsville with mini-doomers 1 and 2. First time out this year, with newly reconstructed shoulder, and with torn tendon in thumb. All-in-all, had a good day, but stunk it up around the greens. The course has really close cut Bermuda grass which hasn't come in yet, so it was basically like hitting off the dirt which isn't a good formula post shoulder surgery. However....I didn't really think I would ever play again, so an 82 wasn't too bad with a couple of doubles.

Love the "Run"

Got 18 in yesterday at Cynthiana CC. Shot a 77, which was totally acceptable with the conditions and considering I hadn't played since mid-October.

Short game was pretty blah, but I actually hit the ball pretty well.

I would think that is really good considering the winds yesterday.

Played late yesterday afternoon, walked the front 9 at Wild Turkey Trace. Wind was almost crazy bad, blowing 25-30 mph easily. 3 club difference into the wind. Stared off with a birdie, should have stopped there. Did have a couple more pars, one of them into the wind on the long uphill par three #4, about 190 uphill from the blue tees...into the wind, chocked down on a 3 wood to get it up there. most holes into the wind, however, I didn't fare so well. Stunk off the tee for the most when playing into the wind, tried to hit some low screaming hooks which usually just resulted in something bad/ugly. However I wasn't to upset with my game, did hit my share of good shots and just missed out on another birdie on the short par 5 # 6 hole.

I haven't played a round yet this year. I just can't get into it until the weather is decent enough to play 5 or 6 rounds a month.

Anyone have any recommendations for a swing analyzer ? I'm looking for one that not only gives swing data but also gives feed back on ways to improve my swing.

A swing analyzer made by Zepp is the current front runner.

Temperatures don't look bad for Saturday, but too much moisture this week in the area.

I'm looking to get my clubs regripped this weekend; any recommendations (Northern KY area).

Walked 9 holes Sunday (3/6), shot a 42 which I thought was pretty good considering I butchered the first hole and bogied the easy par 5 #6. Walked 4 holes yesterday before it got too dark, hit some good shots and a couple of bad ones, but with the Bermuda fairways being pretty much mud right now, makes it tricky. Better off actually being in the rough.

Really liking my new irons. They look much like a $700 set of Titleist or something, but after buying all the components/pieces separately and paying my gold pro to put them together for me, $241.00 is a bargain. And though I haven't hit every club yet, they feel darn sweet and I am really liking them. Have also got several compliments on them as far as the look/feel, and have a couple of guys really wanting to swing them to try them out. Component clubs man...I think it's the way to go...especially if on a budget, but really for anyone who wants to save money and still have a good, quality product. I swung some Taylor Made irons while on vacation last year, which is what got me to thinking I might need to update my clubs. What I have put together looks every bit as good as those clubs (I'd say even better) and swing like a charm with the desired effect I wanted. Though I didn't hit every shot good this weekend, I hit some really nice iron shots that felt just wonderful and am guessing I have picked up anywhere from 1/2 to 1 full club length, and that's in less than ideal conditions. When the weather warms up and course dries out, it might me more than that.

Walked 5 holes before church yesterday evening. Cloudy with a decent little wind, but nice. Continue to get a feel for my new irons...just really liking them. Played pretty decent, 3 out of 5 pars. Hit several nice shots which is what I'm after right now, swinging the club pretty good, much better than I normally do early in the season, and starting even earlier than I normally do too with the good early weather and me in good physical condition now. This just might be the year I finally break into the 70's...been close but just haven't been able to pull it off yet. That's definitely the goal this year and it seems like it might be more reachable for me this time that any time in the past.

We need to start planning another BGP golf outing like we had last year. @spindoc, is SO doing a scramble again? I can get something together at my home track as well if need be.

Just ordered me an 18 deg driving iron, custom made, same place I ordered my heads/shafts from a couple weeks ago. It's pretty much a hybrid that looks more akin to an iron. Upgraded the shaft a little over what I have in my iron set...same manufacture and style, but a new model that supposed to fit hybrid clubs really well. Hoping this will fill a gap between my 4 iron and 3 wood (it definitely should, huge gap there) and will help on those longer par 3's as well as shorter par 4's and 5's where I look more for accuracy off they tee rather than out right distance, and those holes where I may have a longer approach shot than I can comfortably try and get my 4 iron to.

Played 18 Saturday...well really only 16, started drizzling and wind picked up, looked like I might get rained on so I skipped a couple of holes on the back 9. Walked the front, rode the back. Wasn't fun playing, course was sooooo wet just took the enjoyment out of it.

Went to Mon O War golf and hit a bucket from the covered stalls Sunday. Going to start doing that more often in bad weather when I want/need to get some swings in or work on my game.

I have played the last three weekends in Cincy and am heading to Vegas Friday night...playing Saturday thru Tuesday there (5 rounds)...watching (and betting) hoops on Sat and Sun as well...CANNOT WAIT!!!

Golf, watching hoops, betting hoops, eating, drinking, and black jack...that's a lot of vices to take care of in a 4 day period:ylsuper:
