June 14, 201610 yr Author My set came in yesterday. It has a driver, 3 wood, 5 hybrid, 6-9 iron, PW and putter. Definitely need to get a sand wedge, and you have a big gap between the 5 hybrid and 3 wood. Might want to keep an eye out for a 2 or 3 hybrid, though you are probably ok with that for the time being.

I figure at some point I'll figure out what each club does and doesn't do for me. Right now I still have no clue and now that I have new clubs I need to re-calibrate.
June 14, 201610 yr Played yesterday at Cynthiana CC. Had a very boring, but nice round of 71. Made par on the last 12 holes. I've played that golf course hundreds of times and I don't think I've ever done that. Looking forward to playing in their Invitational June 25-26. If anyone is interested in playing here's a link to the entry form. http://media.wix.com/ugd/903398_65aa4ea3a1a548ef896c99f308e36c73.pdf

Right now I still have no clue and now that I have new clubs I need to re-calibrate. Many companies are making decent clubs these days, my only suggestion is make sure you have a well made and well balanced putter. This is the club that you'll use the most. You can shave many strokes off your score with good chipping and putting.
June 14, 201610 yr Author I threw out a BIG number last night!:puke: That's what you WISH she said. :lol2: Yep, I went @lawildcat on you.:woot:

So, @PurplePride92, now that you have been bitten by the golf bug, when you going to come down to Wild Turkey Trace and let me treat you to a round?

Doesn't matter if they're individual or in a group. Much of golf is counter-intuitive. Hit down on the ball to get it airborne. If you hit it right/slice, don't aim left.
June 14, 201610 yr Still acclimating to the new clubs. For the first time in my life, I hit both a 3-wood and a 3-hybrid off the short grass with success (I really really like the Nike Covert 3-wood).Did have 2 birdies on the way to an 85 this morning from the forward tees. A triple and a double didn't help.

If you can't hit a ten yard chip consistently, you shouldn't be trying to hit 100 yd shots. Biggest mistake that new players make.
