As to the 2015 game:

- Cards' bigs still need to develop. Mathiang being out may actually help that, but it will be difficult to watch the development. Onuaku has glimpses of potential but also head-scratching moments.

- Spalding was awful and the stage seemed too big for him. Not an unexpected fact for a true frosh who understands the rivalry.

- Lee & Lewis are strong & can undoubtedly play at this level.

- Snyder was awful. He needs to develop to keep his playing time. Mitchell is a spark plug offensively & defensively. They don't need Snyder as either Lee or Lewis can handle the ball.

- Adel's recovery from injury & progression will be important. Although small, if they can play only 1 of the bigs at a time on occasion with Adel at the 4, they will be strong. Not sure they can withstand the defensive and rebounding pressure that would place on them, but would be fun to see.

- Ulis is very good. I said early "let him shoot and if he makes them, you simply shake his hand and accept the loss." He did and they should. The only thing I would have done is alter the press to double him and when he gives up the ball, deny it getting back in his hands. If it takes box & chaser to do it, so be it. He's so good that you can't let him control things. Fortunately, Cal took the ball out of his hands on several key possessions by having Ulis take the ball out of bounds and it allowed UofL to force some TOs.

- Poythress was a stud for a long streak. Cards D was shaky for sure, but he was a huge part of that. Not sure why Cal took him out whilst on that run. Asked same question about why Pitino took Lewis out when he was hot and on that big run in the 1st half.

- Last possession needed to go up quicker. Need to take the shot with 6-8 seconds left. If you make, limited time to respond. If you miss, crash the boards and try to stick back or get the foul to stop the clock and force FTs. Don't mind the 3 but also wouldn't have complained about a dribble drive to force contact. I think Cards would have had momentum in the OT.

- ACC schedule should be fun. No dominant teams there, but lots of good competition. Should allow for progress. Would expect a 2-5 seed depending on how they play.

- At least with this team, they are fun to watch. Last year was a grind-it-out, ugly death march with each game.

Cal certainly gets better recruits, but they rarely target the same players.

Yeah Stripper poles don't have much affect on our recruits . Definitely different types of Athletes , our recruit in general don't need STD test . You got this point correct :)

True.

Pitino doesn't recruit the top guys like he did when he was at UK.

Another place where Cal owns Pitino

Well Pitino has 2 National Titles, Cal has 1. So Pitino owns Cal where it really matters. For all the NBA'ers Cal has had during his tenure at UK you would think he wouldn't be tied with 1 title a piece. Now I won't lie it kills me that UK is dominateing UofL. The only thing that gets me by and ticks off my UK buddies is Louisville still is the last team in the state to win the National Title. It's all I got for now.

1 of those titles is at UK.

As far as owning, I would say it would be comparing what they do against each other.

If you think Pitino would take wins over UK instead of overall season success, you need to step away from the blue koolaid.

The spinmaster has certainly spun his web on you

Just seen the video of Pitino going into the tunnel after the game. I kinda feel sorry for the guy. He's said over and over that the worst mistake he ever made in his career was leaving UK for the Celtics, then this whole prostitution thing comes out, and now this.

I've always liked Pitino, him taking the UL job does not bother me one bit. But this, on the other hand, is completely out of character for him. Not that I care that he did it, but it does tell me its time to hang it up. He's letting things get to his head. There is more to life than basketball, he needs to focus on that more than what a few heckler's think of him.

^^^

Not sure he can be without basketball.

You have to be kidding, right?

I mean I'm pretty sure you're the same guy who said the game passed Bo Ryan like 7 months after he coached a championship game.

Too many word filter violations for me to understand your post. But yes, I'm that guy

Also, what relevance does Bo Ryan have in anything to do with this thread?

Pitino has been through the ringer the last several years. Caliparis' success at UK is not helping. Has to be taking its toll!

A different video angle on the Pitino #1.

Pitino's post on his website this morning is ridiculous. He needs to stop talking publicly

There must be a different one, because the one I just read certainly doesn't warrant this kind of response.
