December 26, 201510 yr Today was definitely UK’s day, yet the Cards had a chance to tie/win at the end. Strange and remarkable. As a Cards fan I found much of this game bor-ring, way too many fouls… The bragging rights would have been fun; but as usual, the Cards move forward using this game as prep for ACC play. Go Cards!
December 26, 201510 yr Like I said, Kentucky wins this one. Though it was closer than I figured it would be.
December 26, 201510 yr UK with their best shooting game of the year is the difference. Oh well. They've actually shot about the same from behind the arc the past two games. This game they did make a couple unexpected towards the end of the shot clock, but this game the love was spread around some more. It was the easy stretch of interior buckets the Cards surrendered that did UL in, imo.
December 26, 201510 yr Neither team is very impressive. UL will struggle in the ACC, Kentucky will struggle on the road in the SEC.
December 26, 201510 yr UK with their best shooting game of the year is the difference. Oh well. Or just Cal owning Pitino
December 26, 201510 yr A win is a win but UK is still making too many crazy turnovers and head scratching decisions. Letting the clock run out on that last possession is a good example. And although Murray can shoot from deep he also was the main reason Louisville took the game from double digit deficit to a 1 point game due to turnovers. And its looking more like Cal has about given up on Skal. He's going to have to get much stronger and learn to play physical and there's not enough time left in this season to get that accomplished.
December 26, 201510 yr It was the easy stretch of interior buckets the Cards surrendered that did UL in, imo. Agreed. That killed UL.
December 26, 201510 yr I'll take it, I really felt the cats would lose this one, thought they played with great intensity first half, and hung on for the win.
December 26, 201510 yr They've actually shot about the same from behind the arc the past two games. This game they did make a couple unexpected towards the end of the shot clock, but this game the love was spread around some more. It was the easy stretch of interior buckets the Cards surrendered that did UL in, imo. They've shot 29% on the year. To pretend that UK's shooting behind the arc wasn't the difference in the game is just wrong, IMO. UL didn't play as well as they could have for a couple stretches, but if UK doesn't shoot out of their mind, UL probably comes away with a victory. Part of that is Pitino staying in the zone when he shouldn't have. The other part is Ulis making ridiculous shots. If a team is going to drain them five feet behind the arc, then so be it. It's just not your day.
