UK hit at least two threes that were ridiculously deep. No, not at the mid-court logo, but you're just being difficult as usual. While I don't disagree that he should have just said "UK played great," you are just looking for something to be upset about, again, as usual.

What a silly position. In what world does a coach have to chose between winning a rivalry game vs "the rest of the season." Please explain how if Louisville had won, it would have detracted from "the rest of the season." There is no explanation.

 

Apart from, you simply make up the division between this game and the rest of the season because you lost this game. Losing or winning this game does not have an inverse effect on the "rest of this season."

Kind of an offshoot, but I think Cal and Rick are two of the most fascinating coaches in all of sports. Both are engaging, raw, and extremely flawed. When they speak (especially Cal) or do something, I am paying attention.

As a UK fan I consider this game very important because Louisville is the best team UK play's on a regular basis. They are a good measuring stick. This game isn't the same as any other because it's your top rival and one of the best programs year in and year out with a HOF coach.

 

I also enjoy the game because of the family, friends, co-workers who cheer for Louisville. It is exciting and something fun to be a part of. We're not always going to have Cal and Pitino and the combined success. So I'm going to highlight this one while we do and enjoy it for what it is and that's the most exciting game of the regular season.

Definitely agree on both.

I'm neither a UK fan, nor a UL fan, but I will admit that I watched every dribble of that game and was left thinking that UK's ceiling, this year, is much higher.

 

I also was left wondering just where UL would be if they hadn't landed either transfer. I know Lewis had a lot of suitors and was close to pulling the trigger elsewhere, but in hindsight UL was a great place to be in terms of exposure and playing time.

 

If I'm a UL fan, in Rupp, the game being that competitive, I'd be cautiously optimistic about the rest of the season. If I'm a UK fan I'd be concerned I didn't put away that UL team when given the opportunity early in the 2nd half.

 

UK certainly has more horses in the stable, pun intended, than does UL this year. In my opinion.
