Kentucky 75 Louisville 73

Beating Louisville year after year makes me feel great.

Is that supposed to bother me? :lol2:

The UK game means NOTHING to Louisville's season (and it means nothing to UK's season either). Beating UK is great, and irrelevant all at the same time.

Has anyone heard any news of how Wynyard is looking in practice?

I'm hoping that somewhere in the second half of the season he will be able to help with much needed physical play and rebounding.

Is that supposed to bother me? :lol2:

Come on man.

Or because Cal has had a roster full of NBA players since he got to UK... er.

Another place where Cal owns Pitino

Pitino has been at UL for years. He's had all those years to develop his coaching style and his recruiting there. The fact that Cal beats him every year and he doesn't get NBA type players falls squarely on him. However the UL camp wants to spin it, Cal has owned Pitino since he came to UK.

Does it bother you that's the truth?

Cal certainly gets better recruits, but they rarely target the same players.

Does it bother you that's the truth?

It bothers me that you won't admit that it's a big deal to both fanbases.

Cal has a similar winning record against everyone since he's been at UK. Pretending that it's only isolated to Pitino is nothing more than trying to stir the pot.

UL/Pitino's top priority is not beating UK every year, as much as UK fans want it to be.

I didn't say it wasn't a big deal.

I said it doesn't matter in terms of the season. And it doesn't, for either team.

That is so not true. Pitino would give anything to beat UK.

And as far as jabs not good enough for you....its because its just way to easy to say Stripper Poles

If you think Pitino would take wins over UK instead of overall season success, you need to step away from the blue koolaid.

Of course the only season that he beat UK since Cal has been at UK the Cards won it all....maybe it is tied together.

Watched an interesting documentary called "The Rivalry: Red v. Blue" from 2013 whilst visiting family during the holidays. It was on PBS recently but is also available on Amazon Prime for free. A few tidbits I found interesting:

- UofL did not come into the KY state college system until 1968. Until then, it was a metro school apparently funded by the City of Louisville?

- Pitino commented, correctly in my opinion, that the game is important, but much more important to the fans than the players or the programs.

- It comes at the end of the pre-conference season and the learning process that goes along with that. With the precipitous decline of the SEC in hoops and UofL now in the ACC and previously in the Big East, the game represents the apex of scheduling difficulty for UK and just the beginning of it for UofL.

- Matt Jones sounded reasonable but for the clip when he was actually on his radio show. Further convincing me of what I already have believed for several years - Jones is a masterful carnival barker serving up red meat to the BBN fan base that eats it up.

- Several big mouths that took too much of the screen time, but lots of insight from different viewpoints.

- Good insight into the era where UK refused to play UofL and how that developed into UK really needing the game more.

- Good analysis of the race issue, both in the fan bases and the recruiting trail

Overall, fairly informative. If you're reading this thread, you'd probably enjoy it.
