So is it definitely going to be evenly devided, or will there be a decision to come?

Beechwood and Mayfield should move up to 2A because most likely they will have no competition at all besides for each other to win the State Championship...

I am sure it will be put to a vote, it seems they are looking at dividing them evenly as well as some sort of super class and minor class. They will vote on which one the prefer.

All I know is...it doesn't matter how you divide these teams and to whatever many classes...the complaining will still continue.

I don't think you're right. Its not being put to a vote of the schools. The 6 evenly divided classes has been approved by the KHSAA. Its a done deal from what I was told. They are going to send out the proposed districts, based on 6 evenly divided classes, to the schools to solicit comments from the schools. Once those comments are back and considered, I understand the KHSAA will vote on the final districting in August.

The super class concept is not going to be further considered AT THIS TIME from what I understand. Its possible that, after the 6 classes has been in place for several years, the super class concept could be re examined.

Here's what I read, and I may be wrong because I was not there, so feel free to correct me. It is going to happen, but nothing is deffinet because Bob Schnieder was not there and any final vote has to have his stamp on it, if not the entire board. He was absent due to a broken leg.

The Board of control met with less than enough members to finallize the vote ( they voted in favor of it 14-0), but enough to ensure that it would go to the FULL board of controll for ratification. The proposal was to go to 6 classes, how the classes are to be divided was still to be decided. They are leaning toward 6 even classes, but nothing will be finalized until after September as to how the classes are to be divided.

Now that is a simplistic run down, but that is the basics of what I have been told and read.

Here's the NKY breakdown in this scenario:

Class 6A

803 Conner

768 Campbell County

762 Boone County

736 Ryle

722 Simon Kenton

Class 5A

636 Dixie Heights

611 Scott

550 Grant County

503 Holmes

Class 4A

464 Covington Catholic

430 Pendleton County

423 Highlands

Class 3A

335 Lloyd Memorial

Class 2A

266 Newport

264 Newport Catholic

238 Holy Cross (Covington)

Class 1A

194 Bishop Brossart

183 Beechwood

159 Ludlow

158 Walton-Verona

155 Dayton

138 Bellevue

It is six even classes Sandman with no possibility of super classes until 2011.

Lloyd needs to drop about 25 students pronto... :D

Will Evarts, Cumberland Cawood consolidate 2007 or 2008? Also, Harrodsburg is no longer.

Does that mean they play themselves?

It means they learn to spend Friday's on a bus... :irked:

I have since been informed that I was misled, you are correct LN.

Evarts, Cumberland and Cawood will be consolidating in 2007.

Don't worry. The playoffs will allow them to play closer to home.
