UCLA 87 Kentucky 77

UK stunk because of UCLA... Don't discredit how the Bruins played last night.

At reading the thread now, my first post was going to be that we need to give UCLA a ton of credit. Not only did they shoot lights out, but they had a great game plan to beat the Cats. I typically don't watch UCLA much throughout the year, my East Coast bias and earlier bed times I guess, but that team looked pretty solid with some nice pieces.

I don't think NBA teams will be running over one another to get to him. He'll get drafted for his potential and spend a year or two in the D League before moving on up. Unless he makes some kind of huge transformation in size and strength before the season is finished his draft stock is going to fall big time. Just my thoughts. Hopefully I'm wrong. He's going to be fine somewhere in the future but he's just too young ,inexperienced, and weak at this time.

Skal will be fine. Kid just needs to learn how to be tougher. Strengthen would definitely help with this but I think a lot of it is a mentality. He needs to learn how to play angry. Needs a stronger base.

His ability to stretch the floor and hit jumpers helps him.

That dunk by Prince Ali was one of the best dunks I've watched live in several years. Not convinced it was a foul, but it was an incredible dunk. I'm a Kentucky fan and jumped up out of my seat.

I was disappointed that Jay Bilas didn't drop an Aladdin reference haha but yeah, that was incredible.

It's still early December and a lot of development of this team will take place, especially over the holidays.

Here's my take, this team played pretty bad last, but was still able to keep it right around 10 points. It felt like it was at least a 20 point lead for UCLA, but the Cats stayed within striking distance. The issue came when the Cats couldn't get a defensive rebound to really get a run started.

So what you're saying is we should somehow blame you for this.

...Huh?...

Wow is all I can say about UCLA last night! Anybody got stats? They just couldn't miss from anywhere on the floor!

I hope Marcus Lee is ok. Cats will be fine; this was just a bump in the road for them that probably brought some of them back down to earth.

In case you all weren't watching the same game I was, UCLA couldn't miss. Nothing Kentucky can do about that. Obviously when they did miss Kentucky didn't rebound, but that's an effort thing that can be solved easily and will be solved. Kentucky has to shoot the ball better and rebound, but Thursday night, west coast, UCLA couldn't miss and Marcus Lee went down. Kentucky couldn't control any of these things and they all had a hand in them losing. Need better effort rebounding and need to have better shot selection, and then when we do get open shots we have to knock them down. They've shown they are capable of these things. No reason to act like the sky is falling.

Kentucky can control some of those things. Yes UCLA wasn't missing, but a lot of those shots they made weren't even contested that well. Play better defense and contest more shots would help stop a team from shooting as well.

Well I hope we can drop that this team is a better team suited to win games in college than last year's team. This team is very talented and very athletic. However as we seen last night we are not strong inside and when teams are able to take away the lanes to drive the basketball, we don't have really any good shooters on this team besides Murray and are horrible at free throws.

With that said this is still a very athletic and talented team who as we seen against Duke can do many good things. So they canfigure it out and be a dangerous out come March. This year the type of matchups we have come tournament time will play an even bigger role.

Poythress & Skal are so soft. Poy looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. That dude is costing himself millions of $'s.

Cats were out coached as usual when they play teams with similar talent

I was disappointed that Jay Bilas didn't drop an Aladdin reference haha but yeah, that was incredible.

He wouldn't have even had to try hard.

"Make way for Prince Ali!"

BOOM. Done.

College basketball as a whole is terribly flawed at the top programs.

You can change the shot clock, call more fouls, or whatever, but at the end of the day the "basketball" players have more athleticism and less skill.

The object of the game is to put the ball in the hole, scoring has been off because at the highest level of NCAA, everything is at the rim or 3-point line.

UCLA made a lot of mid-range stuff last night, they might not do it consistently, but if you can you will win a lot of games.
