I disagree. Cal recruits great rim protectors, but the past few seasons they have been awful at rebounding considering their length and athleticism. Last year's team was a horrible rebounding group. If CAT didn't grab it, it was a crap shoot.

Last years team was the 21st best group in the country in rebounding. That is not a bad rebounding group at all. I know as UK fans anytime we give up a rebound, it is frustrating and can even seem like its many more than it really is. Also we get to see UK every game. We don't see every game of all these other teams to see what true bad rebounding teams look like. So a lot of times perception is not reality because we see every UK game. Last years UK team probably should have been the top team in the country in rebounding with how tall they were, however they still overall were one of the top 25 teams in that category.

If Mulder doesn't play last night, does he really get much time at all this year?

I was wondering about him. I thought for sure we would see him some since he is suppose to be a good shooter and we really don't have many good shooters here. Is he hurt or something? Or does Cal just not use him?

I don't pay attention to what the stats say. I pay attention to the fact that they only outrebound a small Notre Dame team by 3 and Wisconsin outrebounded them by 8 in crucial games. W/ that size, athleticism, and depth, they needed to outrebound everyone in those crucial games.

Looked it up for us.

UCLA:

52.8% from the field

45.5% from 3

76.5% from FT

UK:

37.9% from the field

32% from 3

76% from FT

UCLA actually had 2 more TOs.

With Ulis and company, UK is good at limiting turnovers. That is a plus for this group.

Last year UK was a good offensive rebounding team. Defensive rebounding they struggled. That is at play early this season.

A young team lost a game.It happens. Kentucky will be just fine and they should make a very deep tourney run.

More importantly, whoever put the UCLA cheerleading roster together deserves a raise.

When Xavier played UCLA in the Elite 8 in 2008 we thought their cheerleaders were RIDICULOUS in the 1st half. Then, they changed outfits at halftime, and came out for the 2nd half looking FREAKING RIDICULOUS. Their cheer squad is the highest level, period.

An Oregon-UCLA game is like a pageant show. It's just ludicrous.

Those spandex shorts were uhhhhhhh.............

Maybe the UK players were affected by the cheerleaders, too, and that explains the poor performance.

Skal got bullied tonight. Not the same big man UK is used to having.

That was sad.

No wonder there have been multiple versions of "California Girls" released through the years.

Poythress has only played 8 basketball games in almost a calendar year. His effort has been awesome, his skills are still rusty.

As I cite to stats...:ohbrother:

Poythress & Skal are so soft. Poy looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. That dude is costing himself millions of $'s.

Zero chance AP makes an NBA team. He can't even dribble the ball. If he's not catching lobs the only other than he can do is rebound and he's not that good at that.
