December 4, 201510 yr This avatar... It's doing things to me.. I can't take it much longer... This is our consolation prize, BBN.
December 4, 201510 yr This is our consolation prize, BBN. You're right Randy. I think I am going to keep this avatar for the rest of my life.
December 4, 201510 yr Except for Briscoe none of the Cats brought it tonight. As a matter of fact, they could have saved meal money and other expenses and just left Alex and Skal in Lexington. It gets so frustrating watching Alex miss 3 or more gimmie baskets every game.
December 4, 201510 yr U.K. looked pahetic, UCLA played great, a mile over their heads. As for the Cats .... No rebounding, No defense, No shooting = Loss. Bruins were prepared, focused and they executed their offense and defensive games perfectly. A young U.K. team showed exactly that .... Young and Soft, we got pushed around to the point it looked like they were intimidated. Alfrod, Holliday and the big blonde kid (can't think of the name right now). Skal has to get stronger, Murray has to take a game over. Hopefully UK. will learn from this one and know they have to come out and play every night. I hope that Lee isn't out long, him leaving with injury hurt. Ulis played but my opinion he was still hurting alot. Basically UK. Stunk the place up and got their butt kicked.
December 4, 201510 yr In 3 of Cal's 6 seasons Cats have lost at least 9 games. Plenty of time to get better.
December 4, 201510 yr The great thing about college basketball, is this loss means absolutely nothing. Kentucky will be just fine. They'll figure it out.
December 4, 201510 yr You're right Randy. I think I am going to keep this avatar for the rest of my life. I'm done with this thread :lol2:
December 4, 201510 yr I didn't expect the win. I wanted to see who wasn't scared of the moment. Ulis, Briscoe, Willis, and Poyhtress (even though he played poorly) were the only few not afraid. Briscoe is the tone setter, but this team only goes as far as Murray takes them.
December 4, 201510 yr In case you all weren't watching the same game I was, UCLA couldn't miss. Nothing Kentucky can do about that. Obviously when they did miss Kentucky didn't rebound, but that's an effort thing that can be solved easily and will be solved. Kentucky has to shoot the ball better and rebound, but Thursday night, west coast, UCLA couldn't miss and Marcus Lee went down. Kentucky couldn't control any of these things and they all had a hand in them losing. Need better effort rebounding and need to have better shot selection, and then when we do get open shots we have to knock them down. They've shown they are capable of these things. No reason to act like the sky is falling.
December 4, 201510 yr It's early and we are very young. They will be better by February. We still beat Duke ??? Let's hope they can beat Duke in March as well.
December 4, 201510 yr Let's hope they can beat Duke in March as well. Yep. They will get better just like Duke will.
December 4, 201510 yr I'm done with this thread :lol2: :lol2::lol2::lol2: You're a good sport, Grizz.
December 4, 201510 yr UCLA shot lights,out, UK stunk and lost by four possessions. Disappointed some didn't step up to lead this team.
December 4, 201510 yr If you ever want to find out, when you're talking to a group of UK fans, that is, about how much they really know and care about basketball, then ask them what they think about Steve Alford's career. If that fan recognizes that Steve was a great college player, and that's it, that fan is winner of the day. If that fan immediately spouts something such as, "He's terrible," then that fan is an obvious UK-only fan, which means they don't really care about basketball. That means they have stupid anti-IU venom and they really don't much care about anything but one-upmanship. If they acknowledge his playing days in high regard while panning his coaching performance, then they have some serious sense.
December 4, 201510 yr Kentucky was completely outplayed in all facets of the game, including effort level. Parker & Welsh killed Kentucky down low. UCLA came out & punched Kentucky in the mouth, and the Cats never even threw a punch. UCLA had 1 or 2 fouls in the 1st half, and that was a reflection upon Kentucky's willingness to settle for outside jump shots. Cats have plenty of talent but have tons of work to do.
