Someone tweeted what he said, they very well have added Hergott's name for clarity sake.

 

I'm not a Hines fan, but I've never heard him or read where he said anything derogatory about a player.

 

At the end of the day no harm no foul. Hergott get's to be a Chippewa and Riley Hall is going for Back to Back State Titles...Hall will get a chance to play somewhere and will do a fine job where ever he ends up.

 

Then that "someone" shouldn't be putting Hines name to it.

I don't remember Highlands coach Bill Hermann coming out following the State Finals after Highlands Jim Abner outplayed Etown's Bill Ransdell who was committed and played at Kentucky. Ransdell had the measurables while Abner barely reached 71 inches. Abner ended up playing a few years for WV Tech in which he started and played QB for the Golden Bears. While Riley Hall is a very nice QB, his game will be at a much smaller school as Abner's was. It is what it is Riley. Good luck to the Maroons this week and hope Riley Hall lands somewhere where he can succeed.

 

Now Coach Hines on the other hand, do us all a little favor and keep your comments to yourself. Build your team up without using other young Athletes as your sacrificial Lambs. Your little outburst in 2009 about how Highlands had no clue what they were getting themselves into with playing Pulaski should of taught you a lesson the 1st time around about poking the Bear. I guess not! Enjoy your success as you guys have had some very nice seasons the last couple of years and hope you guys can bring home the Title. As far as my program....Its Highlands Football. We will prevail! In due time. It's what we do....

I agree, but it's not like it was a reporter. I'm sure Hines said something close to that and who ever posted it may have added Hergott's name to it for clarity...that's all I'm saying.

 

Maybe Hines did say it word for word, I don't know...but it doesn't sound like something he would do, as afar as calling a kid out by name.

 

But even if he said "There were 2QB's in that game, 1 has a Div 1 Scholarship and the other one was the best one on the field tonight. Maybe he should be the one with the offers" Everyone would have the same reaction I'd bet, even if he wasn't named. Because everyone knows who he was talking about.

 

Man I need to start drinking again...I've defended Pulaski and Hines so much the last few weeks that I feel I'm getting ill. :bag:

I really don't see it as a put down. Riley Hall has been the best QB on the field every game he's played this year and will be this weekend. Kid has been mentioned several times on here for Mr. Football.

Guy is noted for bad mouthing other players to glorify his own. Classless in my opinion, he was quoted in the news, when Franklin County had Kaelin Ammons who was runner up Mr. Football. When asked if Ammons was Mr. Football material, he said if his player from a previous year can't recall the name wasn't Mr. Football no way Ammons could be.....

I think Riley Hall is a very good HS qb. I think he is too small to play any where but a D3 or a NAIA..Comparing him to Beau Hoge is pretty comical! Beau is about 6'2 and Riley is probably 5'9 or 5'10 at best. Hoge has a much stronger arm and is probably one of the most elusive qb's I have seen at the hs level.. That's why the kid is play D1 @ BYU..

Except that's not what he said. He is talking about scholarships. A lot of people on this thread are defending an argument that hasn't even been made.

Who cares? The kid is a great QB. NO he will not get a scholarship to UK cause they don't want good QB's they like 6'5 guys who can only throw it 25 yards and kids who get punked out at an EKU dorm who also throws off his back foot, who everyone on KSR loves because he's "just cool". I could of told you the biggest problem at UK were those two clowns.

 

Getting back to Riley, I do think he's a good QB and should land somewhere. Where, I don't know. I think these days it's a butt kissing competition sometimes. I have seen kids from other programs who struggle at a UK or UL.
