I personally don't find fault in it except for the fact he mentioned the other kid by name.

 

All he had to say was "I have seen a lot of kids with D-1 Offers play Quarterback in this State and he is as good as any of them" or even "Hall was the best player on the field and hopefully D-1 coaches could see it"

 

Specifically calling Hergott out by name after they just ended his career was a bit unnecessary.

 

I think his intentions were pure..but sometimes it is always best to keep things generalized especially when the media is around

 

I would agree with this. I was told that Hall was as good as Hoge was last year. Beau had very few offers and he was much better than Hall IMO. You can rest assure that this quote will be hanging on a wall somewhere.

He had a lot of similarities to Beau's game. He just doesn't have near the arm strength and is a couple of crucial inches shorter.

Measurables and camp performance, that is why one of those QB's have offers and the other doesn't have one yet. Doesn't mean Hall want have one but it's about fitting the prototype that College coaches want your kid to have.

 

 

Nice the comment was a little off base. I think if he had took a second to pause after he was asked a question, he would've worded that a little better.

And for the record though.. he is right... Hall is the best QB in Kentucky and my vote for Mr. Football if I had one and I could see him being an excellent player even at the FCS level or at the Division II level.

 

Being a four year starter whoever ends up with him would get a very polished player. I would think there would be some offers coming.

I agree with you. The way he kept plays alive by moving around reminded me of Beau. I also agree with the PC coach, he was the best QB on the field last friday. But, he shouldn't have mention the opposing QB's name.

Probably shouldn't have mentioned Hergott...and he may not have.

Someone tweeted what he said, they very well have added Hergott's name for clarity sake.

 

I'm not a Hines fan, but I've never heard him or read where he said anything derogatory about a player.

 

At the end of the day no harm no foul. Hergott get's to be a Chippewa and Riley Hall is going for Back to Back State Titles...Hall will get a chance to play somewhere and will do a fine job where ever he ends up.
