I always love hearing how Notre Dame plays nobody. When they normally have a tougher schedule than most the top 25. They don't play FCS opponents.

I am not taking issue with their schedule, I am saying I doubt they can win three or four in a row against top level competition.

Might be right if they play like last night. I'm more than nervous for the Stanford game.

 

My point was more that a majority of ND's schedule is a quality opponent.

I said it back when they were still doing the bcs crap and that is it needs to be 8. Someone already mentioned it but have the 5 power conference Champs get in. Then three at large. So a team really would have no right to complain about not being in. If you want in then when your conference, so you don't have to hope someones opinion puts you in. Shoot doing that may even get Notre Dame to fully join the Acc so they don't have to chance not getting an at large.

That's just my opinion. without looking I'm not sure but do the other levels play a 12 game regular season ? Personally, should they cut a game, maybe two depending on how many teams in a playoff / tournament then they could add another couple of games/levels to a playoff.

Football can't play a couple of games a week like the ncaa basketball tourney and is jmo that would extend the season too long, unless they shave a week, maybe more from the regular season.

They don't have to add a week. College football basically takes the whole month of December off. Play the first round of playoff games in mid December. It would actually make the January games better because teams would not have a month or more off in between games...

I would love 8 teams, no reason to have so many cupcakes at the beginning of the year, and one cupcake in the middle of the conference schedule. Cut out all the crap and play a 2 out of conference tough games, and a conference schedule, and then have an 8-16 team playoff and we can truly find out who the champion is. I still think Baylor is a great team and chances are no Big 12 team is getting into the playoff, and as an ACC fan how is it that North Carolina has no chance to make it in, yet Oklahoma does, and Ohio State still does? North Carolina has been better than both those teams all season.

I'm all for this idea.

I think we'll see eight within the next couple of years.

I'd vastly prefer this to any system we have now and I'd love it, but I don't know that the moneyed interests pulling the strings agree.

In continuance, to add automatic qualifiers you would have to expand to 16-24 teams. I don't want to see some 7-6 ACC conference champion make the cut. With the exception of the Big 12, the power conference schools have a conference championship game. You get some bad match-ups in conference championship games.

It should have been 8 to begin with, but that would make to much sense with the NCAA being involved.

 

The NCAA isn't involved. This is entirely run by college conference. It would be much better if the NCAA were involved. For all the NCAA's faults, they are great at running tournaments!
