Well theoretically we play better on a bad field at least historically. We matched up well in bell county even though it was a loss in 08. Then at east jessamine they had everyone but the fire department making that field a mudhole and Rees ran all the way home from Nicholasville that night. Point being Its not a bad thing for a bad field I don't believe.

We aren't that big and don't have a Power run game. I'm just not sure how a bad field helps. I really am not being a smart A**. I'm just not sure of the logic. I can be convinced but have not been yet. Sorry.

Boyle has long had infamous mud losses. 1997 lost in muck to Bourbon.

Boyle us an execution, scheme squad. They don't often line up and overpower you, at least since the 2000 team and such.

How does a bad field help Boyle ?

 

Central has overall greater team speed that will be nullified by a sloppy field, in my opinion. Central likes to run East/West way more than Boyle. I may be wrong, but as stated earlier, I think Boyle is better off at Central than Central at Boyle.

 

Same scenario last year for Boyle. Second round game at Knox Central, who also had team speed. I think that game would have been closer than 44-13 on a turf field.

We don't have a big line, but we do have a power running game. Swanner has run over more people this year than any back in a while at Boyle. If he gets through the line, the second tier is in trouble. I have watched him run over people this year who did not want to tackle him the rest of the game. As I am understanding Central is not as big as Waggner and certainly not as big as Dunbar. In fact one of Waggner corners who Swanner ran over early, wanted nothing to do with him after that. He us 210 lbs and benches 350. That is a power running game.

You are missing my point. A power runner is not a power run game. I formation, a really big Oline, and maybe double tights. I know Swanner can truck some people. I also am not totally disagreeing. That is always why power run teams are always accused of watering their playing fields against spread or single back, 3 or 4 wide out teams.

Ah six of one, half dozen of another. Team with the fewest turnovers and penalties will probably win regardless of the weather. One team will make a couple big plays at key times and the other will fall short at the same time and that will decide it. Good Luck to both.

Understood, I just feel like Swanner has lots of power and enough speed if he is not tackled at the line early and often the linebackers and secondary will get tired of the conflict. Dunbar had the most staying power of any team we played but they were big and Dunbar had Lafayette beat and gave Scott Co all they could handle. Everybody says Central is no bigger than us, and smaller in some positions, so if Swanner gets through the line that could spell trouble. And if you have to spend all your time trying to contain Swanner the good news is Josiah is back at 100%

Sloppy field will help Boyle Co IMO...so will the cold. I like our chances more and more by the day.

Little o'le Eli Mitchell @ 170lbs hit #21 right in the hole, made him limp off the field and out for a few downs to gather himself. Just saying.

Swanner has a lot of derek Henry's style in him. He just needs to get up a head of steam first or he's not going to get a lot of big play yards. He's no Rees, but he does pick up the hard yards when needed.
