Here is a rundown of our stadium. Overall is a great stadium/atmosphere. Great concessions on both the visitor side and under the home side stands. The past several weeks we have been frying really good fish on the visitor side. The field is in decent enough condition. If you venture to the home side concession area you will see our wall of fame featuring plaques with bio's of notable former students and athletes. As for parking there is small lot on the south side of the stadium. You then have several blocks of street parking, as well as smaller pay lots across the street that are usually open. I personally have never felt unsafe outside the stadium or in the general area. I have also never witnessed or even heard of any incidents happening at or outside our stadium during a game or any other time for the matter. We are a good group of knowledgeable fans that want to have a good time and watch some great football. I hope to meet some fellow forum posters there and watch a hard fought game. Great post...I got 3 reserved seats on one of the QB Club charter buses and will be bringing my oldest 2 boys. Can't wait for the atmosphere and (based upon these posts) something I'd never thought I'd say...the concessions! I love me some football and food!

ATL maybe right I will find out for myself Friday night ,but to me platooning is taking a whole unit out and replacing it with another all at one time the only team that I personally have seen do this is Highlands then again they were dressing well over a 100 players at the time that's what I call depth.

By your definition Central DOES NOT platoon.

 

With that said, basketball and football are not the same (obviously haha). Basketball you are playing both Offense and Defense. Being able to bring in a Fresh 5 is more akin to playing only Offense and Defense.

 

To your point very few teams have the ability to completely sub out sets of players or units of players depending on the scheme. Highlands probably cannot even do that anymore as their talent pool isn't the same. I would say Trinity and X are the only Kentucky schools that might be able to do that.

 

With that said, the fact Central has Offense and Defense separate is a huge advantage they have enjoyed over most 3A teams. Belfry has been the only team close to them in terms of limiting their two way players on the field and having the depth to sub in 6 or 7 players as interchangeable parts.

 

You can probably count on two hands the number of teams in Kentucky that have 11 on Offense and a Fresh 11 on Defense with noone going both ways.

I have never seen a Kentucky team do it with my own eyes.

 

I have seen some of the big Georgia 6A schools change out for packages like Colquitt County, North Gwinnett, and Archer. Even then it is not a full 11... they may switch out their entire D-line and OLB's in favor of a Dime Package with smaller/quicker DL and additional DB's. On Offense I have seen them sub out 4 or 5 guys to go to Goal Line/Full House or go from a Double Tight I-Formation to a Spread Look.

 

As you said Highlands has rotated WR's en mass before but I don't recall them doing more than 5 in/5 out at a given time.

How many players play both ways for Central?

Not sure the year but went to Fort Thomas a few years ago in a early regular season game and Boyle dominated the first half in the second half Mueller started platooning on offense and defense by the end of the 3rd or the beginning of the 4th Boyle was gassed Highlands wound up winning by a couple scores and yes he was subbing 11 for 11. Like I said in my post Highlands is the only team That I've seen do this. There's probably only 2 or 3 schools in Ky that have the depth to platoon like that and Highlands may have only done it the one time it's the only time I've ever seen it happen.
