Give me Channing Fugate at Fullback over Hatfield. No disrespect to Austin, but Fugate played FB at Tennessee and EKU and made the Baltimore Ravens practice squad this summer I believe. Until Hatfield has that kind of resume, I don't know how you can put him ahead of Fugate.

Lonnell Dewalt from Warren Central. Almost single handedly lifted then over St X in 2003.

 

Seriously, I'm borderline appalled he wasn't even on the honorable mention, and I believe he belongs on the team. I'd easily knock off Burton, who didn't even really play WR.

 

Where did Manual use Burton in high school? He was a very good WR at UK.

What is Deuce Finch doing now? I might say that JJ Jude deserves to be on the first team due to numbers alone. The guy is the 8th all time leading rusher in the NATION.

Ryan White DB Trinity. In the same class as Hatcher and Quick and sometimes overlooked. His senior season he caught more touchdown passes from the St. X QB then any of X's receivers did. He was also an outstanding punt returner, so much so in fact that lots of coaches would intentionally punt OOB to keep him from fielding the ball.

Hatfield has 2 Rings.

I don't really consider a Fullback someone who gains 3,000 yds and 36 TDS in a season, that's a RB. I think that's what Fugate projected as in College.

Quarterback. According to his bio some time at RB and WR as well, but primarily lined up as QB. And I agree, he was a fantastic WR at UK. His experience is like a better version of La'Rod King. King also saw a lot of time at QB in high school (which made me feel like I was having a fever dream at times, seeing this giant QB with no one to throw it to....), before flourishing in a more natural position in college.

 

But the point is, in high school, he didn't really play it. Now, I guess no criteria was laid out here for whether placement on these teams is due to high school play, college play, or both, but Burton should have to make the team as a QB or an ATH.

I think that is a very fair point... I will consider him as an ATH moving forward when I amend the list

RB for ST. X Anderson(I think) was pretty special. Cut on a dime.

As for Curtis Pulley never saw I guy take over a game when Hoptown played Paducah in the Regional Finals. Here's what I witness: Joey Casey just scored the go ahead TD in the 4th quarter. Pulley blocks the extra point, then he's put in the kickoff return team for the first time all season and takes to the house breaking about 5 tackles. Then on the first play on defense strips Paducah QB who played for Louisville (can't recall his name) and goes about 50 yards for the TD on Paducah's sideline.

Best individual performance I've seen.

No. This is a High School All-2000s list. You don't take off a WR who got Mr. Football for someone most of us don't even know. All that stuff you say may very well be exactly right but I don't think his efforts generated 3 straight State Championships.

With all due respect Cole isn't chopped liver like you made him out to be.

 

He was statistically one of the top WR"s to ever come out of the Bluegrass State, a 3 time All-State selection, and fairly heavily recruited before signing with Vanderbilt. To paint the picture that most people do not know who Cole is would simply be false.

 

With all that said, for me Fant is almost impossible to take off the list. He dominated the state for three years and was without a doubt the best player on a Bowling Green team that had a legendary run.
