Graduated in 1999 or 2000, which would mean he did not play in the 2000s for high school.

I hate it when Dragons are right! He (RobertReynolds) was a beast. Sorry I was a year early.

Honestly I'm surprised that neither Travis or Bobby Leffew or even Brodie Overstreet from Boyle County did not make the all 2000's team. I know it's easy to overlook all of the talent over the past few decades. However, both Travis and Bobby were All-Conference players in college and I believe Travis was an All-American. Both Leffew's even made it to the NFL, mostly as scout-players, but nevertheless they made it. Of course, they were outstanding high school players.

Jordan Olinger of Hazard could be worthy.

Danville's Kelvin "Dukey" Turner should be on this list. One of the best running backs I've ever seen!

The job of doing a 15-year "All State" Team is difficult. I just deal with players I have seen personally and say that any list that does not have Stuart Hines, OL, Bowling Green, Alex Kupper, OL, Trinity, Justin Miller, ATH, Owensboro, and Curtis Pulley, ATH, Hopkinsville is a very incomplete list.

Jeff Duggins as the 2nd best QB in the last 15 years???

 

There are multiple Highlands teams he wouldn't have even started on. There are several Lex. Cath teams he wouldn't have started on. He would not have been the QB at Conner during the Drew Barker years.

Much as I like seeing Trinity guys included I wouldn't have included Hatcher. He was very inconsistent. Some great games but also some very average ones as well.

 

I agree. He was very selective in his effort.

And what about Hamblen from Highlands around 2000 or 2001? He was Mr. Everything for them when they had that program really rolling.

 

We have discussed this many times around the "Tailgates" that Brett Hamblem was probably the best all around Athlete to come out of Highlands in a very long time. Especially since 2000! Yes better than Austin Collinsworth. He showcased his skills in 99 & 00 at Highlands and went on to earn a D1 Scholarship at Kentucky only to watch it go up in "Flames" his Freshman year. Sorry I couldn't resist! But Brett could pretty much control the tempo of the game from the WR to DB or even the Deep back Returner position...Not sure what he was better at? Offense or Defense! There was no drop off at Either.

 

Imagine watching James Quick playing against Highlands and at times would make people look really silly....That was exactly the case with Hamblem in 2000 against Trinity when Highlands was up 35-0 at Half. Brett was special!

Keep the names coming... lots of good ones... I plan on revising this list.

 

15 years of players is a loooooong list to keep track of with limited resources. A few no-brainers already I am not sure how I missed.

His brother got the 5th year of eligibility. Bobby had a good career at UL, starting all four years.

 

Travis started all 4 years at UL as an Offensive Tackle.

As much as I love Jeff for all he did for Boyle, I would agree. Honorable Mention is a good thing on this list.

 

Trust me though, Duggins would have started on any HHS team. It's just he would have likely started at LB. He was an athlete and football player, wherever you played him.

Cole over Fant at receiver at this point I would think. Cole was legit. Many people don't know this but he was dangerously close to playing with Andrew Luck at Stanford, even had Harbaugh calling his house begging him not to commit to Vandy the day he committed, had he gone out to the west coast he may be playing professionally right now. As it stands a Vandy MBA isn't to bad! Bright kid.

 

Plus he played at Vandy with a horrific passer most of the time. Cole was crazy as a WR, I know I come off as a Homer but no way there were 4 better than him in High School since 2000.

 

Harbaugh actually flew into Somerset to recruit him.
