To answer the original question....yes. There are a couple of people who I didn't like at all before I met them and after meeting them and having a positive encounter with them my perception of them changed. There are some people I liked/loved a ton before I met them and like/love them even more after meeting them. There are multiple people I consider lifelong friends and I'll go to war with and for Randy Parker in a heartbeat and without asking. There are also people here on BGP that I liked when I met them that I no longer like or have any use for and I know they feel the same way. It is what it is. Life goes on.

I guarantee there have been those who liked me better after actually having met me.

 

I think I fall in the "other " category........especially if you are a fan of the other soccer team we are playing......right Yellow Card ?

In my defense...

 

1. I was still drunk from hanging out with G before the game.

 

2. I was scheduled to meet the Grizz at halftime and he was way on the other side of the stadium. Of course all of the beer lines were long and I didn't want to stand my fellow Duke fan up so I just went straight to the meeting point.

 

3. Okay....it wasn't an accident. I drank them both when I hiked the country miles to get to the meeting point.

When I met PP92, Randy, Clizzy and Mentschie, it was like we had known each other for years. I met PP a little over a year before the rest, but they are all good dudes. Pretty much what I expected.

I've actually had Christmas dinner with a BGP poster for a few years before he and I even realized that we were both on BGP, much less who we were.

The behind-the-username impression is often 180 degrees out. Cases in point:

I cannot say I've met anyone just from being a BGPer, but the (3) guys I know who they are from past acquaintances are solid people. BballGuy, TAC, Clyde.

Never met anyone I didn't like but can tell a few who I met didn't like me before we met lol. Even UK#1fan, I could sit down and have a beer with.

 

There are some who since I've met have become very close friends and I can't wait until the next time we see eachother. Clyde, Mentsch, Lawildcat, NKUclubbaseball, and Lawnboy to name a few, and the entire Highlands crew I met at the last NKY get together.
