There was an initial realignment list sent to each school, which showed the possibilities (and plenty of discussion about it here). Maybe that could be a heads up? I don't know.

 

Better question is, don't you think every coach near HHS and CCH's numbers were checking those numbers closely?

Also, an off-topic question, but I was looking at the district layout when considering Sandman's statement. Why does 6A district 2 only have three schools when districts 3 and 4 have five apiece? PRP is located in the Southwestern part of Louisville and it would not be a stretch to include it. The maximum travel distance if you added PRP would be 50 mins (PRP to Central Hardin) which is not significantly different from the current longest trip (40 mins from Meade County to Central Hardin).

 

It just seems odd to me.

 

I get what you are saying, and get that you are looking closely at all the i's and t's. Your point is well taken, but I can't speak to it.

 

I can say when it comes to logistics, the less classes in the state, the less travel for district games.

You guessed wrong, I really didn't know how the process works.

 

I agree that it would be silly if the schools didn't monitor any information to see what other schools were doing.

Dixie's enrollment placed them in 5A.

 

In a roundabout way. Technically, Dixie is a 6A school by enrollment. When teams wanted to move up to 6A, the new process is the teams at the bottom of 6A are asked if they are ok moving down. Dixie was very near the bottom in 6A and agreed to move down when other teams wanted to move up.

I just don't understand the obsession with CCH and Highlands. I have stated already and fully stand by it that it didn't matter what Highlands or CCH did as far as Cooper goes. They choose to be in the same class as Trinity just so they can get away from Highlands? lol...sorry. They have already shown they don't hide from teams when they first became a school by playing up 3 classes knowing they would get their rears handed to them in the majority of games for the first few years. It is however all about location. Every school in Boone county (4 high schools) are playing in 6A, so why would they choose to not play 6A when the fact that their numbers continue to increase and would be 6A school in a couple years anyway. Trust me, CCH and Highlands has nothing to do with it especially when they are playing HHS anyway.

If I'm understanding correctly Dixie would not have had the opportunity to move down if Conner and Cooper did not move up. Still would have made for a nice 5A NKY district.

I agree that teams should just play where they are enrollment wise, unless of course you have no other teams in your area in the same class. I actually could care less what class Cooper is in, whether it be 5A or 6A, I just love High School football and can't wait for the games to start.

I have been digging around on this one because many of you say it was a school system decision but I was just told by a very credible source in the case of Conner, Coach Dave Trosper wanted to move up and this was his decision and not a Boone County School System's decision.

 

If anyone else wants to contact me privately about either Conner or Cooper moving up, I will keep your identity private no matter what.

 

Additionally I have someone else telling me something similar about Cooper but that person is scared of the repercussions if she/he tells the truth about it.

And if anyone here claims this was a Boone County School System decision be sure to add specifically who told you that. Knowing who is giving out that information is very important if we want to get to the truth.
