January 11, 201511 yr They just reiterated at halftime of the Colts game that because he didn't maintain control all the way to the ground it was an incomplete pass. That came from VP of officiating. They also referenced the Johnson catch/non catch as an example which I said was the same thing Still stupid rule though. What was funny though was Jason Garrett's comments after the game. If anyone heard his pressed last week when questioned about the call I. That game, he said something along the lines that he wouldn't question the officials and am sure they make the right calls on replays, and even said he would hope he would say the same if it was a call against his team. Well this week it was and he basically retracted everything he said last week lol.
January 11, 201511 yr Like I always say in basketball games......it's not a walk unless the ref calls it. The refs said incomplete pass therefore it as an incomplete pass.
January 11, 201511 yr I have a question for you to answer. Do you think the call was consistent to calls made all year in a similar situation? Yes. Just like the Calvin Johnson call they made a year or so ago. Consistent with how they rule it. That's all that matters.
January 11, 201511 yr One thing I haven't seen touched on' date=' forgive me if someone already did... It doesn't matter how many steps he took. The fact is, as soon as the ball touched his hands, he was going to the ground. Gravity and his momentum was taking him to the ground... And because he was going to the ground from the beginning of the process of catching the football, steps and stretching make no difference. He has to control the ball after he hits the ground. And he didn't. Dumb rule because it's different if you're running with the ball...but Dez was not running with possession... He was falling (taking steps an stretching) but falling. Hopefully this will spark the league to change the rule because it is dumb.[/quote']That was the point I was getting at earlier. If you run the play in slow motion it looks like he was taking steps, which is not the case. He was coming down from a leaping grab. There is a difference.

January 11, 201511 yr GG to the packers. All we can say. Tough way to lose, but the reversal wasn't the reason for the loss. Like last week, when we jumped on the Lions for not going for it on 4th and 1, we should have ran the ball on 3rd and 1 and if we didn't get it, then run again on the subsequent 4th and 1. Also not to mention the Demarco fumble. GG though, Aaron Rodgers is a bad man.
January 11, 201511 yr I read that Garretts contract is now up and he's a free agent. Any idea if that is true?Pretty sure that is correct.

January 12, 201511 yr @Lions Sorry @dallascowboys. We know the feeling: Calvin Johnson, not a TD - NFL Videos . #CompletingTheProcess
January 12, 201511 yr By the letter of the rule and how they been calling it the last few years they got it right. Shoot the Jermaine Gresham catch against the ravens for a TD a few years ago was even more of a catch and that got overturned too. So based on how they been calling it they got it right. However with that said this is a stupid rule. I understand you have rules in place for a reason. However in some cases common sense needs to be allowed to come into play. That should have been a catch if common sense was allowed.
