Damien Harris commits to Alabama

A lesson I've personally learned: Don't lump everyone into the same group based on what you see on Twitter. Most of the time, it brings out the worst in people.

Yep. Nobody around here ever lumps fan bases together like that... :bunny:

Disappointed but the very best of luck to him. Will be watching to see if I can catch him on TV in the coming years.

He played UK like a grand piano......hope he enjoyed the free basketball tickets the past two years.

I think he'll enjoy competing for a national championship more :lol2:

I will say, I am shocked by the UK fans on Twitter. There is disappointment, but every seems to be congratulating the young man, and handling this very well.

For me (just my opinion), it annoys me when a kid makes his mind up and knows where he is going, but still leads the other schools on with false hope.

I'm not criticizing Harris or any recruit, but that really annoys me. And yes, I realize UK basketball recruits do this sort of thing all the time. They annoy me too.

I agree. It is annoying.

Yep. Nobody around here ever lumps fan bases together like that... :bunny:

Which is why I said Twitter...

At the same time, if the shoe fits you...

Serious question....if you were good enough, how many here would turn down Alabama to stay home?

I sure as hell wouldn't.

I would probably put quite a bit of weight into how I thought I would get along with the RB Coach, Off Coor and Head Coach. If I just felt better about those three at the school trying to reach a better status rather than the time already considered among the best, I may make such a decision.

Would like to him to be at UK but that's life. Time to move on to the next recruit, it's been said many times you can't turn a football program around with 1 class so you sure can't turn one around with 1 player. Best of luck to the young man.

Congrats to the young man and taking advantage of the opportunities that he has. Hope he has a great career.

Now that's funny

"He" may have known back in November, however I believe momma Harris wanted him to stay home. I think even though he knew what he wanted to do, he was still entertaining his mother's thoughts and opinions.

I was unable to watch the press conference, but on a UK site there are several people claiming that moma Harris could be heard telling Damien, "we don't have to do this right now, we can think it over more." Whether she said that or not, I don't know. But there are multiple people on another site claiming that.

I can't recall exactly what was said, but it started either as his mom asking him if he was ready for this, and he said he didn't know, or he said he wasn't sure if he was ready for it. To that, she told him he could push it back and not do it then.

I thought everyone on here said he was going to UK?

Again you were wrong. I said Alabama and so did numerous others.

I thought everyone on here said he was going to UK?

More just hoping than anything. Does it matter?

I thought everyone on here said he was going to UK?

I am sorry that I was wrong. I hope it didn't cause you too many problems.
