There is no rule saying that he can't, I believe. The issue would come if Alabama placed restrictions on his release. Although, there is potential that Alabama may not have guaranteed his scholarship for next year, which I think allows for open transfer.

 

I'm not 100% sure of the rules, here.

Yeah, but after this year they'll only have 3 guys with experience on the roster. It would be nice to have 4.

Experience at RB is really not much of a factor is it? Oregon had a freshman lead them in Rushing. UGA's two freshmen looked good.

 

Heck, take Boom Williams. RB is probably the easiest transition from high school. May not be great in pass protection at that stage but a talented freshman can play a ton.
