On a side note, if the committee knows how to make money, they would let OSU in just due to their fan support. Versus the fan support of a TCU or Baylor.

Had K State and Wisconsin pulled out the wins the committee would be sleeping easy tonight. But it was almost worst case situation for them.

Re: Baylor/TCU, I'm curious who on here remembers (and for some are even old enough to remember) the controversy behind FSU and Miami way back in 2000. If you remember that situation, was your opinion different on who deserved the BCS title game spot? Because I remember a whole lot of people saying Miami should get it because they won the head to head.

 

And an even older controversy with a completely different system, what about FSU winning the -1993 title over ND when both teams finished the season with one loss. ND a 2 pt. loss to #17 BC, and FSU a 7 pt. loss at ND. It doesn't seem like head to head has ever been the only factor considered.

Can you imagine the mess if there were only two teams in the playoff??? Could they possibly leave out an undefeated defending national champion???

Depending on who the committee votes out, they may need body guards whenever traveling to Texas or Ohio.

No. You have to have 12 teams or more to have a championship game.

I'd rather have a mess over 8-9 than 2-3 or 4-5...

6-7-8. The power 5 would get all conference champions in with 3 at-large bids.

From my angle, quibbling about whether TCU/Baylor/OSU ought to get the fourth spot is so much better than having a national championship game with Alabama or Oregon sitting at home, especially this year when the undefeated team hasn't seemed dominant.
