If they declare Baylor the champion, then TCU's chance of getting in is diminished as the committee has said that it really wants conference champions in its final 4. This way both teams can be considered a champion.

If having a critical game that was decided by less than one score is relevant here, then why not elsewhere? The team that lost that game by three didn't lose by two touchdowns to anyone else; Baylor did.

All this keeping in mind that Baylor has played a weaker schedule to this point (non-conference plus no K-State). Using only the six common opponents between them to this point... Total Points for: Baylor: 260 TCU: 274 Total Points against: Baylor:150 TCU: 139 * * * * Great teams might drop a road game to a top ten team on the road by three points. Great teams don't lose by 14 to unranked opponents. Head to head does matter. And it would have mattered more if Baylor had won by a significant margin at home. They didn't. In fact, three points is a number that, statistically, can be accounted for by getting to play at home, which would suggest it's likely at least an even game on a neutral site. Head to head matters... but it's not the only thing that matters.

A two loss Baylor should be out and a 1 loss TCU should be in. The fact is that right now, Baylor beat TCU. That is all that matters. Head to head should trump Baylor's loss to WVU.
