It won't be in the endzone like other places!

I hate those places that do that! :)

If Mayfield or Beechwood goes into this game thinking that, I think that they will loose the Championship game EVEN if they are better than Williamsburg or Raceland.

Not being a player myself, I think that's the case. I'm sure the team will not approach this that way.

It won't be in the endzone like other places!

Will it be immediately after the game and can parents, fans ect attend or will it just be the coaches players ect. Hope they spring for good food, we will all be hungry win or lose

I will say this, if BW has over 200 yds passing, they will likely win. If they can't get anything going in the passing game, they will struggle to put points on the board. JMO

That plays to Mayfield then for sure because running on this D is real tough and we have chased QBs all year trying to throw...

The poll is nearly 50/50. Haven't seen that in any class A team playing Mayfield in recent years. Some of the Beechwood votes are from people who voted against them last week vs Frankfort.

Well having a larger NKY base on this site, playing a team from hundreds of miles away from a area with much fewer members on this site pretty much tells all. It has been a large Bw poll advantage every time they have played going back to 2002. I am actually shocked its this close

Mayfield never wins the poll when we play Beechwood , I hope we don't this time either.

Surely someone has info on the reception afterward?

I would like to know to factor into my travel schedule

Not true! You only have to go to the thread from earlier in the year to show Mayfield was projected to win by voters.

Now in 2011 I'd bet you are right.

That aint the real thing though

agree!

Now, now ... let's not get carried away. There is no way this team is "much better" than the 2011 team. I won't even say they are better than the 2011 team. But this team can earn that on Friday, if they beat Mayfield. If this BW team loses Friday, I go with 2011 as better than 2014. The proof will be in what happens on the field. As of now, the resume of the 2011 team is more impressive than the resume of the 2014 team.

Not so sure I agree with you on this VOR, what in your opinion makes the resume of the 2011 team better than 2014? 2011 lost to CovCath and beat a less than average Dixie and Simon Kenton team, they didn't face anyone that would compare to Dixie and Mt. Healthy this year, and they beat NewCath by a lesser margin if memory serves me correct.

The O line for 2011 was probably a little better only because of Eykmans, but I think the 2014 O line is more athletic and more cohesive. QB this year is a definite upgrade, and with Studer, Stinger and Stokes in the backfield I think it is a toss up between the two teams.

JMO, I hope after Friday night there is no questioning who is or was the better team.

I agree, IMO the tigers are going to have to throw the ball 15-18 times to keep MF honest, I look for the final margin to be 3 points......

Plenty of NKY people voted for Mayfield in their past few meetings.

Okay, I found the 2012 game poll. It shows Mayfield with the advantage you if you look at the names you don't see a lot of the NKY people voted. It appears the non Beechwood folks split their vote between the two teams.

Toothpick just trying to play the victim!

Backfield ... not even close. Vocke and Nussbaum .... incredible players. I believe there are 10 or 11 players off that 2011 team that are playing college sports. The 2011 New Cath team is head and shoulders above this year's New Cath team. They were undefeated when Beechwood beat them. Beechwood put a running clock on the 2A state champion Holy Cross team. That BW team annihilated people every week. I don't want to go in too deep on this here. The focus and discussion is on this team winning Friday. As good as that 2011 team was, if this team beats Mayfield Friday they will be able to make a claim that they are better.
