  1. Congrats to coach Huster, hate to see him leave, but the chance to help form a program doesn't come along every day.
  2. I agree with the congrats, but Stokes from Beechwood played FB and slot this season, probably played less than 10 plays at TE for the Tigers, deserves to be on the team, but at another position.
  3. Nice win for Beechwood, but the Mustangs are a shell of their former selves.
  4. We will just have to agree to disagree.....but that's ok, we are both hoping the tigers pull off the win on Friday!
  5. Vocke and Nussbaum were definitely two of the names, Eykmans, who played OT was probably another. Eykmans has started at OT since his freshmen year at EKU, Nussbaum went to EKU then transferred to Georgetown, voted conference freshmen of the year at LB, Vocke has gone on to be successful at Heidelberg. Usually when someone gets on the site early in the year and starts spewing D1 garbage, its just that. Now Mr. Jackson from MF.....well I was one of those idiots spewing about him being D1....he was a man playing amongst boys.
  6. I agree, IMO the tigers are going to have to throw the ball 15-18 times to keep MF honest, I look for the final margin to be 3 points......
  7. Not so sure I agree with you on this VOR, what in your opinion makes the resume of the 2011 team better than 2014? 2011 lost to CovCath and beat a less than average Dixie and Simon Kenton team, they didn't face anyone that would compare to Dixie and Mt. Healthy this year, and they beat NewCath by a lesser margin if memory serves me correct. The O line for 2011 was probably a little better only because of Eykmans, but I think the 2014 O line is more athletic and more cohesive. QB this year is a definite upgrade, and with Studer, Stinger and Stokes in the backfield I think it is a toss up between the two teams. JMO, I hope after Friday night there is no questioning who is or was the better team.
  8. As noted by another poster earlier, Frankfort is well coached, hard nosed and physical, all things you want your team to be. They never rolled over, they just kept coming back during the game. Hats off to the Frankfort staff, those young men are always prepared. I'm not sure who they have coming back, but I am sure they will do what they always do, reload. If things work out the way they should, the tigers will be making the journey to the capital city next year for the regional championship. Congratulations on a great year, hope to see you all same time next year.
  9. Stringer seems to be running with a huge amount of confidence right now, and with Studer back in the mix and Stokes getting carries at FB they will be tough to defend. Hope I am back in town this coming Friday, think it has the potential to be one heck of a game. Oh, and I don't want to offend the big guys up front, they are doing an unbelievable job controlling the line of scrimmage.
  10. A little to boisterous with the vocal cords is what I am hearing, said something the ref didn't like and out came the laundry. From what I was told it wasn't profane language, just something the ref didn't like. Can't say this info is completely correct, just what I heard.
  11. Couldn't agree more, when they had to get it done they folded like a cheap lawn chair, now lets get back to the teams that remain.
  12. Good win for the Cards, sometimes you need a game like this to truly test the younger kids on the team, helps galvanize them for the long run ahead. Good luck in the playoffs, hope to see you all in NKY in late November.
  13. Good job Tigers, way to take care of business. Time to ramp up for NewCath
  14. Strength of schedule favors Newport by a wide margin, and of course you have that beast Brandon Johnson (I think that's his name) on the D line for Newport......rooting for the Juggs, but I see Newport by at least 10.
  15. Highlands #1, the balance doesn't really matter, just ready for the playoffs to begin!
  16. The middle school team moved up this year to play in the middle division of the northern Kentucky middle school football league, it is my understanding that coach Bright and coach Rash wanted to do this so that the middle school team would follow in the steps of the varsity and play against better competition. They had a successful season considering the relinquished 5 of their 8th graders to the freshmen squad, all of which have played a huge part in the success of the freshmen team. Some names to watch over the next several years are Clay Trusty who will be an outstanding QB at the next level, Hank Birindelli who is a versatile athlete, The Baugh twins who are both tough nosed kids and Sabeon Turner who is sure handed at WR and a heck of DB. Sure there are others to mention, but sorry I don't know all their names. The middle school team had about 30 kids on their roster, so the numbers were good....the freshmen team should be well stocked again next year.
  17. For my money I'll take #27 from Dixie as the best, he seems to have been lost in this conversation...
  18. Ryle beat a depleted Cov Cath team, they were missing 4-6 starters against Ryle. Still a good win, but not quite as impressive as it may seem.
  19. Watch the film or watch the scoreboard? I'll take the latter
  20. What happened to the vaunted SK defense? Drubbing is what I would call it, can someone please find an inferior 2A team for SK to beat up on so that they will feel better.
  21. Good win for the Colonels, the best team I have seen in NKY thus far, of course I have not seen Highlands play yet. IMO the soft SK schedule is catching up with them, good luck to the red colonels the rest of the way.
  22. Good win, did what they had to do and everyone stayed healthy
  23. Good read, hopefully Beechwood can continue to improve. Although Frankfort has sustained some injuries I will say again, those kids are tough! Beechwood will have to show additional improvement if they are going to climb the mountain. Here is to good luck and good health the rest of the way.
  24. Congrats to the Mayfield program, although I will be rooting against them if they and Beechwood meet after Thanksgiving, you have to admire their program. Congrats and continued success.
