Collins 62 Simon Kenton 50 (8th Region Quarterfinals)

Final

The Titans improve to 24-8 and will face Owen County in the semifinals Monday night.

I couldn't listen to the game. Details?

Quick sum, SK got up by 10 in 2nd qt. but Collins went on 16-0 run, SK got back into it and might have even took the lead on excellent FT shooting. Collins pulled away late. Way too manyvTO for SK

Collins made plays when they had to, always seemed to get the big shot they needed. SK with too many missed lay ups, about 6 where they didn't maintain possession.

Former SK State Chmpionship Larry Miller was at the Roy, still not enough to get over the Henry Hex.

One of my favorite group of SK seniors, congrats on great careers!

Collins 62, Simon Kenton 50: The Titans earned the right to play Owen County on Monday night after coming back from a 10-point deficit midway through the second quarter to win an Eighth Region Tournament quarterfinal at Henry County.

Deion Cochran led the Titans (24-8) with 19 points, and Jakson Test and Brent Kidwell added 14 apiece. Collins shot 55.8 percent, but coach Chris Gaither credited the team’s defense in knocking off the Pioneers (15-14).

“We’re not a team that’s going to put up 80 points,” he said. “We’ve got to play sold defense. I think that’s what happened tonight. Our runs came off our defense, and the same thing happened the first time we played Owen County.”

The Titans beat the Rebels 59-48 at Owen County on Feb. 5.

Austin Fries led the Pioneers with 14 points.

Tough year for SK, congrats to Collins.

I agree very short handed.

The 8th is Oldham's region to lose. Pretty good team and well coached. Grant will give them a good game but I think in the end Oldham comes out of it.
