  1. First time in a while that I haven't penned "SK will name the score", this should be a good one. I think SK was guilty of looking ahead last week, I can't say that I blame them, they will be ready for Campbell County this week. I look for the final to be less than a touchdown.
  2. For one, I've never been in the Saddle Club, and yes, maybe the multiple question marks at the end of the sentence were a bit over the top. I appreciate the write ups, good stuff, I guess I was looking for recognition for two young men that I think is overdue. I don't favor any player on the team as I don't have a dog in the fight, just wanted to point out a few more than the obvious. I apologize to Eye for the miscommunication......to you, not so much
  3. "Figure in the Status of HHS compared to SK", what kind of poop is that? You are asking where is BG and super regional teams, where are they on SK's schedule????? For the love of God, SK continues to schedule weak 2A teams and hide behind the weak NKY 6A and then argue they can compete with Highlands and CovCath, lets get real, to be the man, you have to beat the man....but in order to do that you at least have to have the testicles to schedule the man. Historically SK has been unwilling to play the best.....and please save you effort about scrimmaging Louisville St. X, scrimmages don't count.
  4. Players to watch for Beechwood, you omitted Jeremy Burns, who had a spectacular 40+ yard reception against Franklin County and Grant Plageman who is athletic as all get out??????
  5. The beat goes on, SK by as many as they want. As one post stated, this used to be on heck of a game, my how things have changed.
  6. Looking forward to this one, should be a good ole good one as Keith Jackson used to say. IMO Dixie is a much better team than what they displayed last week, and Beechwood showed what they were capable of in the second half against the Owls.....to close to call.
  7. Couldn't agree more VOR, a lesser team would have folded up their tents when they were down 28-0, if you watched the sidelines the kids actually believed they were going to come back and win the game, admittedly they had more faith than I did. IMO Beechwood will not see another opponent this good all year, Mt. Healthy had an unbelievable combination of size and speed, I don't mean this as any disrespect to upcoming opponents, you had to see it to believe it. If you can count a loss a good loss....I guess this is one of those, now if they can take the positives from Saturday and build on those this Friday night I think they have a legitimate shot against Dixie, if they spot Dixie 3 TD's it will be game over, just my thougths.
  8. Second year in a row he has been suspended for the X scrimmage, pattern of behavior? And by the way, "Goon" isn't an endearing term, I'm sure his mother is proud that you call him that.
  9. Never, and I repeat, Never good to schedule an opponent you know you are going to dominate. Trying new things is for practice, and it seems to never fail, when you play an opponent you know is inferior the kids have a hard time focusing, you lose your edge and someone gets hurt. I understand if they are in your conference and you have no choice, but scheduling cupcakes is not beneficial.
  10. I thought KHSAA did not impose the running clock until the second half? Does anyone know? That being said, this game will be ugly from the get go, afraid to put a point total to it....just know it will not be pretty.
  11. Three names to watch for on the BW freshmen team, Sherron, Castleman, and Odom....all three are 8th graders playing up, and all three looked great in their scrimmage last week. A true three headed monster.
  12. At the scrimmage on Sat, that might be the most over hyped and over rated X team in the history of X football. Wouldn't take too much out of that one.
  13. I give the nod to SK in this one, but IMO the game will be decided by 10 points or less.
  14. BW looked impressive, not sure if BW is that good or Conner is rebuilding, either way BW seems to have taken giant steps in the improvement of their run game. Not sure who #12 is for Conner, but that kid can sling it, looked really good.
  15. Funny thing is, at the time we thought it was the most delicious thing we had ever tasted...that's what 90+ degree heat and full equipment will do to your perspective!
  16. Love it, good to compete against someone else for a change.....great opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate where they are as a team vs. where they want to be. Great thing is that you still have a couple of weeks to make adjustments. Love to watch the first year starters, see how they react when the lights come on
  17. I remember 3 hour practices with 1 water break, a hose from a neighbors house, we would fill up our helmets with water and ice and drink out of the vent hole, disgusting! Not sure how we all survived.
  18. Could not agree more, the games now are a blur, but will never forget those moments in practice...when someone got lit up, or when a coach chewed your butt unmercifully....thought I would never get through those days.....oh how I wish I could return. I try to instill in my son the appreciation of these times, especially during this his senior year, my message is to enjoy every single moment, cause in the blink of an eye its over and you cant have it back again.
  19. I think X will win the scrimmage, but who really cares. As has been pointed out already, scrimmages are used to gauge where your team is compared to where you want them to be. Playing better competition only makes you better.
  20. IMO the game of the year, that will be an absolute battle, hope everything falls into place for this to happen..........cant wait!
  21. That's a pretty darn good list, you might add Heflin to that list if they can settle on where he is going to be playing......plenty of talent in Independence
  22. Last I heard, toe rings are uncomfortable, Beechwood will be happy to help alleviate your discomfort this year.....just sayin!
  23. Coach J, Kudos to what you do, and what you do for these young men. My son and I will be there, we are looking forward to it.
