Anthony Witherspoon for John Hardin. Not even sure he will play on the Freshman team as I have heard rumors he will start on varsity.

Any local teams or players, I knew Boone, Ryle and cov cath were tough last year, but does that translate to this year????

Derek Wellman and Devin Varney for Belfry high school....

All new group of kids everywhere- so success or no success is tough to translate from one Freshman class to the next. Cov Cath has some talented kids- but too early to speculate how good they will be this year. Some names you will hopefully hear about in the years to come are Mayer, Maile, Schneider, Beagle, and Dyer among others.

Everybody remember the name.

Three names to watch for on the BW freshmen team, Sherron, Castleman, and Odom....all three are 8th graders playing up, and all three looked great in their scrimmage last week. A true three headed monster.

It seems like that 8th grade class as a whole is pretty good.

Everybody remember the name.

They will all know this name soon enough.

Hoss,

What position does he mostly play?

Purple,

Name it. What I mean by that is I am quite honestly not sure where they will play him. He can play RB, Receiver and I have even hear QB in a spread type offense. On defense I think he will play Free Safety this year on Varsity. He has some 8th grade highlights on youtube and he is a man among boys. Last year (8th grade) he was 6'2" and around 165lbs. Coach Lewis said on the radio that if he progresses he will be a Mr. Football candidate when he is a senior. If you think about who Coach Lewis has had in his program (Elam, Harness, Savoy, etc) those are some pretty big comments.

What positions do those two young men play?

Hoss,

Thats pretty exciting legitamately calling a kid a potential Mr Football candidate as a Freshman. I will definitely remember his name and hope to see him play some day soon. John Hardin will be even tougher in 4A.

I have one for you. His name is Vito Tisdale. He is Blue Tisdale's (RB from last years BG team) brother and I've been told a little bigger and a little faster than his brother. He is a 7th grader this year and could likely start on JV this year, but they don't want to take a chance on him getting hurt. He will have started on the 8th grade team for 3 years straight next year. I dont think they plan to let him play up again until he gets to HS. He will play RB FYI.

I'll go so far as to say that he might end up being the BEST to ever come out of Elizabethtown/Hardin County and for those of you not familiar with the area...THAT is saying something.

There are way too many names to list, but when you bring up the best of the best over the years that have played at E-town, Fort Knox (80's-Mid 90's), North Hardin, John and Central then you are something special.

I saw the kid last year as an 8th grader, and I don't need to see ANYBODY else across the state to know that he is the best in the class.

He's a freak.

I definitely know the last name. Sounds like he may even be a little better than his older brother. Looks like BG and JH will continue the long line of great players for many years to come.
