Pendleton County posted their Head Coach position yesterday. It was actually open a month ago for reasons I won't get into.

...with that said, it's still pretty early. Back in the day, things didn't get rocking until right about now. With the addition of Pendleton and Sheldon Clark yesterday, the count is already up to 22 and none of those are due to coaches taking jobs at other schools. (23 counting Marion County w the passing of Coach Robbins.)

 

..if you see any current head coaches leave for any of these jobs, all it takes is for a couple to start a big time domino effect.

Add Sheldon Clark to the list. Coach Shawn Hager resigned yesterday according to WYMT.

 

Shawn reportedly will remain the baseball coach.

 

Will be a tough gig.

 

Martin County has been decimated by the declining coal economy. Probably more so than any county in EKY. Tough District to win in with Belfry, a Lawrence County team who is trending up, and a traditionally solid Pike Central. Close proximity to Johnson Central doesn't help either.

 

On top of all that, as evident by last season's drama, the administration is not exactly the most engaged and facilities are deteriorated outside of the turf field.

^^^Here is hoping for the kids and programs sakes, that things stay quiet for a bit. Been a lot of turn over in NKY the last few years just like in other parts of the state.

 

Highlands, NewCath, Ryle, Boone, Holmes, Campbell, Newport, Brossart, Dixie, Grant, Gallatin, Bellevue, Lloyd, etc have all seen a change of command (or two) in the last few years.

 

Pretty sure Gallatin hasn't had any changes.
