I only asked that because I know some parents of Freshman players and I hadn't heard this. I did know of the consideration due to how many kids were planned to try out from summer ball.

17 frosh on the frosh team.

 

5 on the court/12 on the bench at any given time. 17 sets of parents/grandparents to keep happy. Any word yet on whether Henry Kissinger and Jimmy Carter have signed on as assistant coaches??

The confusion seems to be because of the # of frosh in the program.

 

By my count there are 19 with 2 of them playing JV. That leaves 17 playing frosh and I can't remember CCH ever having 17 on the frosh team.

 

There was a brief consideration during the summer about having 2 teams. 2 problems: Finding another coach and the fact that each team would be limited to 15 games. So they kept more kids.

 

All 17 will dress for every frosh game.

 

Against some teams on the schedule the back end of the 17 will get the majority of the minutes. Against the better teams the top players will get the minutes.

 

It's still one team and all 17 dress .

 

Wow. I know the process and occasionally they would let 13 play, but everyone pretty much knew who would make the team except on 3rd Cuts when it would be down to the final few players.

 

Sounds like they are taking the UK approach doing platoon. Should be interesting.

Only the JV roster is listed on the Cov Cath web site. Are the Varsity and Frosh, or as our friend used to say all the time, Seniors in Training, rosters not determined yet? Anyone know?

No clue on who won or how CCH looked in Columbus last weekend.

 

I do know that the best guard for CCH was Cooper Theobald. Heard he played really well which matches up with what I've hard about him during the summer.
