Covington Catholic 2014/2015

I was talking to a mom of a CCH frosh today' date=' whose son is a darn good basketball player, IMO. First cuts happened with more cuts on the way. And now the freshmen footballers are joining in the tryout process. Suffice to say that Cov Cath has a lot of freshman talent this year.[/quote']

They toyed with the idea of having 2 frosh teams.

They used to have 2 frosh teams (A&B). I think when a limit to number of games played was put in place, it was abandoned. Not a bad idea even now. Let the A team play 20 games and the B team play 10.

For sure.

2 to 3 sound right?

I can almost hear the sound of the sneakers squeaking already. Can't wait.

Agreed - one of their feeder school programs won the NKY Public School Region last year. Heck, they could probably roll that starting five out this year and be formidable, but, you combine them with some other great talent from around NKY, they should be pretty darn good. Wondering aloud if any will go straight to the JV program. My guess is yes.

Sounds like they should be pretty good then!

Is CovCath a small team is year?

No.

They have good size. Bo is between 6'6 and 6'7 and the Heppler kid is at least 6'5 or 6'6. And several of their younger guys coming up are in the 6'3 t0 6'4 range I think (and they seem pretty athletic).

And Romes plays way bigger than he is. He's a bulldog down low on defense and rebounding... a bulldog that can jump out of the gym.

I think CCH will be ok down low.

I was just thinking about this thread and it dawned on me we should probably call the school "The Covington Catholic High School". Being state champs and all. Just a touch of respect.:)

I've recently seen him and really don't think he was that tall. The CCH roster list him at 6'6 and if its like most rosters we see, that may be a little high. Heppler is listed at 6'3.

Could be wrong, just from what I've seen.

Bo is no shorter than 6'6... I'm giving him the 6'7 in case he grew. He could very well be 6'5 1/2 barefoot.

Is he #11?
