October 15, 201411 yr Nazi was a political party, not a religion.... associated with radicalism and fascism sure, but I do not think that is a fair comparison. We were at war with a country that had a Nazi party leading the way. Muslim is a religion. Party affiliation or religion, they are both ideologies and dictate a certain way of thinking. In this comparison, I find them similar. Nazi is not only a party, it is a way of thinking and separation from non-nazi. The Nazi Party of the 30's and 40's could be argued to be a religion. They are comparable here.

October 15, 201411 yr Islam is a religion. Muslim is a group Touche. You are correct but my point still stands and what I believe PP92 was alluding to.
October 15, 201411 yr The No Religious Test Clause of the United States Constitution is found in Article VI, paragraph 3, and states that: The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. October 15, 201411 yr People don't like the great one because he's a horrible president ( some truly do hate but most just simply regret how bad a leader he is ) NOT because of his political party or skin color or where he goes to church . Like said before I would be more dissapointed that he lied about what faith he follows vs what religion .. On a side note how anyone claims to separate their religion from what politicians they prefer leads me to think they most not be very committed to their religion .
October 15, 201411 yr I dont care what he is, he sucks at his job and is a liar either way you look at it.Short, sweet and to the point.
October 15, 201411 yr Just makes me question where his heart and mind is in the fight going on in the Middle East.
October 15, 201411 yr What if he's not and a small, yet significant number of people will themselves to believe it based on no evidence other than his perceived foreignness and their belief that Muslims are dangerous people?
October 15, 201411 yr I'm going to take a stab here at this' date=' and this is just a guess because I have not gotten caught up or commented about this particular topic. But, to ME, the issue would be one of lying and complete untrustworthiness. IF it were true, and the President is a Muslim...then he would be caught in one of the biggest public lies ever, since he has always stated he is a Christian and has always defended that publically. And if you would lie about something THAT important, one of if not THE most important thing in one's life, then what would we be able to trust from that person? That's my take anyway.[/quote'] Agreed
October 15, 201411 yr Author Not saying that, we all know the "politics as usual" stuff. And actually, IF he were Muslim, I would think people of that religion should be even more upset with him, proclaiming to be a Christian publically, in essence denigrating the Muslim religion in the process. Again my opinion. This is a good point and even further proof that he isn't a Muslim IMO. He'd have been outed big time by now by his Muslim buddies. As long as he has been proclaiming he is a Christian publicly only his most ardent haters believe he is a Muslim.

There are people who don't like him because of his political party, because of his skin color and because of his religion. There are also people who feel he has done a good job as POTUS. Just because you aren't one of those people doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

October 15, 201411 yr Technically by some measure - the answer is yes. The legal father (Obama) was a Muslim. But he had no involvement at all with upbringing so other than biology that linkage is nothing. Lolo Soetoro, step father/adopted father/legal guardian was Muslim and while in Indonesia Obama was at least well exposed and trained in Islam at least for some period of time. He can quote the Koran without hessitation and has said he considers the Muslim Call to Prayer one of the most beautiful sounds on earth or something like that. He knows his way around Islam very well through formal training. As long as he is not committing taqiyya his background is not an apparent factor now.
October 15, 201411 yr What if he's not and a small, yet significant number of people will themselves to believe it based on no evidence other than his perceived foreignness and their belief that Muslims are dangerous people?Define significant. I don't care if he is Muslim. Now, radical Muslim would worry me. I'm more worried about the horrific job he's done than what his religion is.
