What if President Obama is a Muslim

Featured Replies

Does it really make a difference? Wouldn't hating him because he is a Muslim be the same as hating someone for being a Christian? Isn't that still discrimination?

I ask because I saw people crying on Facebook(again) about Obama being a Muslim. I don't know, I just don't get it. Even if he is a Muslim how come people can't distinguish between radical Muslims and Muslims? We can distinguish between Westboro Baptist and Christians but not radical Muslims and Muslims.

I don't know. I guess it just weirds me out to see "people of faith" publicly practicing hate.

And no, it doesn't make a difference to me at all what anyone's religion is when it comes to politics.

Doesn't make one difference to me if he is or isn't. Like you say, there are differences between Muslims practicing their faith and the radical Jihad people in the Middle East. I'm not an Obama fan because of his policies, not because of what religion he may or may not practice. I'm sure we would be hearing the same things about Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith had he been elected.

Last time I checked, females are still free to go to school in the U.S. and don't have to wear a hijab or jilbab.

He's slow to react even if he is atheist, which is what I truly believe that he is. I don't care about his religion. I care that he and Congress have been the most incompetent government that we've had in my life time.

I'm going to take a stab here at this, and this is just a guess because I have not gotten caught up or commented about this particular topic. But, to ME, the issue would be one of lying and complete untrustworthiness. IF it were true, and the President is a Muslim...then he would be caught in one of the biggest public lies ever, since he has always stated he is a Christian and has always defended that publically. And if you would lie about something THAT important, one of if not THE most important thing in one's life, then what would we be able to trust from that person? That's my take anyway.

Makes no difference. Doesn't really matter what somebody claims to be, what really matters is if they practice what they preach or not.

I agree, Facebook posts about prejudice against the President (anyone for that matter) are annoying and usually uncalled for. I in no way shape or form agree with most of Obama's actions, but he is the leader of our country so I'm not going to bash him to bunch of people on Facebook who already hate him.

A politician lie for political gain? Wow, that's never happened before.:rolleyes:

I'm getting ready to hide a bunch of people on Facebook because it is at the disturbing phase now. It used to be annoying. Now it is just disturbing.

I saw an article about Mark Levin threateningto go Independent if the conservatives sabotage the Republican presidential candidacy in 2016. The need for a viable third party has never been higher. I wonder how much closer we are to the reality of a viable third party.

How do you think Americans would have felt if we had a Nazi president in say, 1945?

Not saying that, we all know the "politics as usual" stuff. And actually, IF he were Muslim, I would think people of that religion should be even more upset with him, proclaiming to be a Christian publically, in essence denigrating the Muslim religion in the process. Again my opinion.

I did a Facebook Purge this week, it was refreshing!

I didn't get rid of people I disagree with, just idiots. Facebook has already been better for me the last few days.

I'm already looking forward to Purge II, getting rid of sites that I may have liked in the past but now just annoy me.

I dont care what he is, he sucks at his job and is a liar either way you look at it.

Nazi was a political party, not a religion.... associated with radicalism and fascism sure, but I do not think that is a fair comparison. We were at war with a country that had a Nazi party leading the way.

Muslim is a religion.

Islam is a religion.

Muslim is a group

That's a good point, but aren't some lies unforgivable? Not saying this is or isn't, but it would seem to me that lying about a campaign promise and lying on a direct question would be different.
