No sour grapes. No anger management needed. The truth is harsh but is necessary especially in this situation. Fo those of you bluebloods who don't like the truth being told about your not-so-fine institution. Sorry. In this case the rich get richer and the poor keep playing on dirt fields. It's just a shame that the school misrepresents itself as a religious institution when they obviously steal from the poor and fill their pockets. That "turf money" should go anywhere else but CovCath and Highlands.

You have issues and should think before to post.

And just because you think something is the truth does make it true.

You need to do a little research before you say something is true, and don't let your hatred of CovCath or Highlands hide the facts.

I should not bring this up but CovCath also got money from the Schott Foundation for the new school and the baseball building. It is amazing want happens when you go out and ask for help or apply for grants.

Yes I tried under the old and new commissioner.

The NFL needs to change that. That means essentially all of the rural football programs in the US are geographically ineligible for the grant money.

Oh yes! CCH steals from the poor, are you talking about those poor souls who spend at least $75 on one Bengals ticket?

This thread is laughable now, lol

.........5.50 for a bottle of water or $8.50 for a 16oz. beer.......PLEASE! It's not stealing from the poor, better yet accepting from IDIOTS. (with all due respect to the BGP Bengal patrons).

I figured, but I assumed others were wondering the same thing, so I thought I'd ask and let you explain!

WE KNOW already.......how many more times are you going to say it.

All this arguing and, in a nutshell, it comes down to this. The wannabe cake-eaters, or junior cake-eaters if you will, beat the system again. The claims of poverty by CovCath supporters is a joke. They beat the system like they always do. With influence and manipulation. The Bengals give that money to whoever they want and CovCath has the tools in place to steal it away from schools that deserve it. That money should have gone to an organization that rightfully deserves it and doesn't have the boosters involved who have the means to write a check for that amount. Let's be honest here. That money should have gone to youth football. Numbers are declining everywhere in youth football. The NKYFL plays at Mills Rd. primarily and the kids are playing on dirt fields up there. They "SERVE" Bellevue, Dayton, Newport, Covington, Ludlow, and Erlanger to name the primary impoverised areas. Those who say that CovCath has the people in place to raise funds are right. All of the private schools do and some are better at it than others but I am crying foul here. My despise for CovCath and the people who represent it run deep and this is another good reason to hate them with all my soul. They have ruined the spirit of charity by stealing from the poor and giving to the rich. Sleep well, CovCath. Oh and GO RAVENS!!!

Good God Almighty, and some folks think some of my post are overboard. :lol2:

I'll give you this BigDaddy, you say what you feel and I respect that. However, I'll politely agree to disagree with most of what you said.

Not trying to start anything here, but all the low income buddies you mentioned were athletes. Do they award scholarships to others? I guess, what warrants a scholarship to Cov Cath.

Financial aid is doled out based on financial need through a national clearinghouse. All parochial schools in N Ky handle it this was as far as I know.

There is no more consideration given to athletes than anyone else. Your either eligible or your not based on financial need.

I think maybe some didn't click on the links and read. :idunno:

My guess is if they can't play sports it's tougher to get the scholarship money. I have nothing to base that on, other than my opinion. I believe Ncc does the same thing.

Please read again.

To all of my Holy Cross friends: I ain't mad at ya over one poster.

Read the whole thread and it should have stopped right here...:thumb:

Covcath mimmicking the political arena, imagine that? Money that can be spent with a greater ROI eslewhere going to an already "well funded establishment!" Here is the rub, an organization with a history of buy in to do so. Clearly consensus building has some power in todays society...what a novel idea.

Sure the funds should have gone to a more deserving, less well funded organization. Grass roots needs better organization, lobbyists, and a well defined mission statement. Clearly a "spirit that will never die won." Praying these funds are used to kingdom build!

I get your point, but I think that CovCath is in a better position than most to maximize the ROI on $200,000 due to infrastructure that is in place. I would have, however, also have liked to see this go to fixing up youth leagues and funding their upkeep. That being said, they solicited, they won, good for them.

This is also the field where Colonel Youth Football plays their games at all levels -3rd thru 8th grade. I'm sure that was a factor.

I'm reading through his post where did he mention Holy Cross ?

I checked his prior posts.

Yeah this thread is laughable. I'm glad CovCath got the money. Does anyone know if any of the other schools eligible applied for the same grant?

I haven't heard to much but I heard less than 20. Not sure if that is in the area or the country though. I can't imagine only 20 schools across the country applied for 15 spots though. The official numbers have to be out there somewhere. Not sure if they will ever really say though. What is comes down to, if your school did not apply then you can't complain about anything (not saying you are, just in general).
