If you're being sarcastic, I whiffed...sorry.

If you're being serious, please also admit there are plenty of white collar neighborhoods that feed into Cooper. Plenty. I think Conner (which has their fair share of white collar kids too, obviously) and Boone would have to scoff at your "blue collar Cooper" comment.

I know of a lot of blue collar folks at CCH that happen to own their own biz. Plumbers/painters/builders/contractors/electricians,etc. I'd bet that's true in Union, Ft Thomas, and Ft Mitchell among others.

Joe Walter lives in Boone County. His wife works at Cooper!

Paging Hellbird ..........

Shelly left a few years ago, works in the District office now.

Does this mean CCH will be the first NKY school to replace existing turf? My aging memory tells me this is season 11 or so on this turf. It certainly looks fine from a distance. Not sure about up close.

Congratulations to Covington Catholic.........Big $$$$ boost for any program.

Didn't CCH get theirs the same summer as Beechwood ? If so it's season 12.

I think, and I could be wrong, it was one year later. Foggy.

Estimated median household income...

Villa Hills - $96,261 (most of the families that I personally know who send their kids to CovCath live here)

Park Hills - $86,979

Ft Mitchell - $84,505

Florence - $48,443

Covington - $37,414

Newport - $37,222

Agree....not the connotation I was picking up on, however.

this is all about a group of a few people at Cov Cath who write multiple letters per year applying for grants n such. THis is a 200,000 grant by the NFL to 15 different schools through out the country. This is why Cov Cath is a great place, people taking time out of their days writing grant applications because they want CCH to be the best place that it can be. And remember, this is 200,000. THey will still have to raise around 300 to 350,000 more for the field. And i can guarantee there will be lights next year because they will install them when the field is ripped up because they will have to run the conduit underneath the field for the lights. Lights will be at CCH next year.

Oh , I don't that was what was being said.

Conduits were installed when they initially installed the field turf at Wooten Stadium years ago.

If I'm not mistaken, the current plans for the stadium renovation call to have some of the light towers mounted directly to the new grandstand they are working on obtaining funding for. Their current capital campaign at Cov Cath also includes a 4-classroom addition onto the building that is prioritized before the stadium renovations, as it should be. The stadium renovations aren't going to be happening until the classroom addition is fully funded, and $200K isn't going to do the trick. I can't imagine that this money won't be going, more or less completely, to the stadium turf replacement.

It will come down to what we hear and what is true from what hear. Will be interesting how it will play out.

I think it will play out pretty much how CWB says it will. He makes me think he knows what he's talking about most of the time. ;)

Correct- the capital campaign is for a great many things- classroom expansion, tennis courts, multi purpose sports field house and yes, stadium, lights and turf. This grant from the NFL for the turf will take care of most of the expense being as they already have a sub grade. How much of that needs to be torn up and re done I have no idea. Some exciting things happening right now- got to keep the momentum. But the turf can and will happen first before stadium and lights.
