Should Devon Hester make the Hall of Fame?

Featured Replies

Now is the all-time record holder with 20 TD returns........so should he make the Hall of Fame?

He's still so silly fast and elusive. He may end up playing into his Darrell Green years.

I don't know. Was he ever an outstanding cornerback? The returns are nice but I'm not sure if that is Hall of Fame worthy. I'm not against him going to the Hall of Fame but I am not sure if he should just because he could return punts and kickoffs.

He's the Edgar Martinez of the NFL. A specialty player with incredible numbers, but won't get the HOF recognition he should.

No he was never good at corner as far as I can remember.

I never knew he played CB. I thought he was always a returner and WR

I've never seen him play corner. He was out there tonight as a WR. As for the question, if you hold a tough NFL record, you're HOF worthy to me.

He's never been a corner. Don't think that is what PP was getting at. The comparison with Hester is Dion. Dion was one if the best CB to ever play as well as a great kick returner.

Have other special team players made the hall? If so he's a no doubter. If not he should be the first.

It took until this year for a punter to get in.

He was a DB for 1 of his 3 years in college with Miami. I believe he may have been originally drafted as a corner (hence the #23 with the Bears), but I'm pretty sure he only saw the field as a returner. The Bears started using him at WR his third season.

He's been an unbelievable return man, one of the best ever. I don't think it's enough to get him in the hall of fame. If Brian Mitchell can't get in, Hester shouldn't. I know Hester has more TD's but Mitchell could do more on the field.

So you discount 1/3 of the game?

I have mixed feelings about it. I bet they wouldn't put him in, but if they did I can understand why.

Tough question, and in my mind he's no sure fire lock. This is the way I look at it...if he is really that good, then why isn't he on the field every offensive snap as a wr? I mean, shouldn't you want the guy touching the ball potentially another 5-12 times a game than he does as a #1 wide out? Or on the field as a db, I mean shouldn't he possibly be at least a good, if not a shut down corner with all that talent? Why isn't he in one of those roles full time?
