I will say this, even if the deputy is criminally charged I will still blame the young lady who lost her life for the entire incident.

It's a shame that this happened for both parties. But I really hope he doesn't end up facing criminal charges for this.

No matter what the findings are we all know that if she did t try to flee none of this would have happened. That is the part that upsets me the most is the fact that it all could have been avoided.

 

That is what I get upset about, the fact that she and she alone put the wheels in motion. Whether or not the deputy is charged or not isn't what bothers me, it's simply that she was the reason this entire thing took place period. She lost her life which is beyond tragic, that upsets me because she didn't have to die. She is the sole reason this happened period and it didn't have to happen. It is such a waste of a life that and for what? Nothing is going to change what the deputy is going through the rest of his life, but none of it should of happened and that infuriates me. It all SHOULD have been avoided yet SHE chose it to go a different route and it cost her her life and it cost him any normal life from here on put.

Sorry dd, I'm gonna call bull on that. Cop had his car pulled to the side there with I assume and quite sure with his blue lights running. Unless incapacitated somehow, one should have known what was going on. What I think anyway.

When the civil suit is filed, the No. 1 question will be why officers, or at least one officer, assumed that these field party participants would be able to follow orders when officers were told early on that the some or many of the young people were consuming alcohol and blowing weed. Why weren't all drivers immediately told to exit the vehicles?

I'm talking about all the cars and drivers, not just one. Why would officers presume that any of the kids was capable of driving in a reasonable and safe manner and be able to follow instructions? That expectation went out the window early on in the investigation when the nature of the party was disclosed.

I'm not following what your saying...how should he have handled this differently? I'm not arguing I just don't follow what your saying.

 

He was the first to arrive and as soon as everyone saw blue lights I'd guess they started trying to leave. He was at the intersection to check them as they left.

I understand that, but if she wouldn't have broken the law by disobeying a lawful order she would still be alive.

 

Whether or not it was an unlawful shooting or not, she put this in motion, not the deputy.
