Dinner: what did you have?

Featured Replies

Had broccoli casserole, baked potatoes and fried apples with it. And the pork loin turned out to be one of my better ones. Yum.

Fried Apples? Have not heard of that before.

Seasoned it up with onion and garlic salt, paprika, black and cayenne pepper and put it in a small pan (I vary the seasoning mix depending on mood and availability). Started it on the grill at about 275 for about a half-hour or so before I put the peach preserves on, then reduced to 200 and cooked for 3 more hours, adding some wood for smoke. I don't really worry much about getting the internal temp up past 135 because the smoke does the work for you. Can't cook a pork loin too high a heat as it will dry out fast. Cover it up after removing it from the heat to let it settle for about a half-hour, then slice.

A big pot of cabbage, potatoes and smoked sausage with cast-iron skillet cornbread.

Sounds soooo good. I can't eat anything in the cabbage family since I had my gallbladder taken out or I will pay for it all night.

^ Great comfort food on a cold day.

Chicken marsala, pasta and Caesar salad.

That's ironic.. I just had cabbage, potatoes, kielbasa and bacon, with a couple slices of plain white bread.

Bone in NY Strip and lightly fried new potatoes...
