December 8, 201312 yr It can happen you know. One of those years I guess. MSU got all the defensive players this year. It shouldn't. If the SEC attracts all the best HS players, where did all the good defensive players go? SEC defenses have been atrocious this year and games in the conference have looked more like a Big 12 game than SEC games of just two years ago.
December 8, 201312 yr Seems to me there is a SEC team that is going to be in the National Championship game afterall lol
December 9, 201312 yr And I wouldn't bet against them. I hope your right but I just can't see it. If Auburn were to beat FSU, the SEC is King talk will never die down.
December 9, 201312 yr I hope your right but I just can't see it. If Auburn were to beat FSU, the SEC is King talk will never die down. The SEC is king. Why would the talk die down? Just look at the championship record. There's no way to argue against that.
December 9, 201312 yr If Auburn loses, it's going to be like Collins beating Highlands with people teeing off on the SEC even though it'll be one year that breaks an impressive streak.
December 9, 201312 yr Author And it looks like they'll have to score 60 to win. What happened to all those super-great SEC defenses this year?Offense caught up at a few schools!
December 9, 201312 yr Offense caught up at a few schools! I find it hard to believe the way things looked just two years ago for such a 180 to occur. Pretty much everybody went from grinding, defensive struggles to shootouts.
December 9, 201312 yr If Auburn loses, it's going to be like Collins beating Highlands with people teeing off on the SEC even though it'll be one year that breaks an impressive streak. I still wouldn't bet against Auburn under any circumstance in that game. But it doesn't change the fact that the SEC no longer stands for great defense.
December 9, 201312 yr I remember seeing a couple articles, one talked about the SEC being third in scoring and third in defense in 2012. Another talked about the fact that since 2008 SEC scoring average was up to 34 from 25 points per game in 2008. They attributed it to fancy offenses being "sexy" to the highly recruited players. I remember the outcry a couple years ago when Bama beat LSU in the NC and there was very little scoring. Maybe the SEC is listening?
January 1, 201412 yr Hahahahaha SEC is 5-1 in bowls so far this year. Still the best in the land. Reading back through this thread was humorous
