Agree on UNC.

 

On Maryland...I don't have much familiarity with their fan bases, but Maryland's has a reputation for being one of the nastiest in the country.

 

On NC State...Friends from college who were Duke or UNC people compared them to UL fans (the "little brother" complex). What say you?

I hate any team that has beaten a team that I cheer for when they shouldn't have beaten them. I just hate them. That's what being a hater is all about. It's not logical. It's hate.

I've been fairly quiet on here all year long about FSU but when I say they'll beat Auburn I don't want to hear that Auburn will win because they are from the SEC. You're going to have to provide something better than that.

I have no idea if the SEC is down from prior years or not. Are there stats somewhere that we could look at that would indicate a year to year comparison? What would be the key stats? SOS? Out of Conference results? Don't really know that bowl results would indicate how the conference stacks up against prior years. Would total results including conference records be meaningful at all? For those who think it's down, what are you going by?

My cheering for SEC teams in bowl games is purely from a greed stand point. It means more money to the conference and more money to UK. That said I won't root for UT no matter what. Hate them more then RP hates Getslow.

My eyeballs. Alabama was better last year. So was LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia and South Carolina. Oh, and Florida also. Shoot, even Vandy put a better product on the field last season. I even think UK was better last season weren't they?

 

Also, teams like Missouri and Auburn who were SEC bottom dwellers last season don't normally jump straight to Division Champs in the SEC in one season. It's usually a gradual rise. Not a started from the bottom now we here in one year type of situation. That ain't SEC football.

 

And it was still the best conference.

A lot of talk about the demise of SEC defense, but I think that it goes in cycles. For example last year's LSU defense, had 8 players drafted. I think you will see much improvement in Baton Rouge next year. That being said overall this has been a down year for SEC defense. Some blame could be given to the rule changes. Everything that has been done in recent years seems to favor the offense. The targeting rule has to go.

You mean all the times I used this space to prove how silly the UK fans gloating about the SEC really is? Guilty as charged. I did grow up enjoying a few Big East programs like Georgetown, Syracuse and UConn but that's about it.

 

And the funny part is UC is still in a better hoops conference than UK... :lol2:

1. I'm not an SEC football fan , I'm a Notre Dame fan.

2. SEC is the best conference top to bottom and it isn't even close.

3. Anyone who says otherwise ignores tangible evidence or is lying .

 

I hated SEC football fans as much as anyone before and after last years title game. The SEC chant makes my head hurt. Until another conference has some sort of success against them there really is no argument. SEC is #1. I hate to say it.
