December 4, 201312 yr Seems like this thread is needed Let it go, everyone pile on. Tell everyone why the SEC is the Most Over Rated Conference in the Nation!
December 4, 201312 yr The SEC sucked this year. After watching two sorry teams from a year ago advance to the title game this year I fully expect UK to make the same leap. Seeing as how the conference is so tough and whatnot that teams that finish at the bottom of the league make it to the conference title game the next season.
December 4, 201312 yr Author From the other thread I'm not on here acting like the ACC is a good conference. I am telling you that FSU is the best team in the nation and that I don't care if they were in the Canadian Mountain Conference they are still the best team college team on this planet. It kills me how all the SEC homers discredit every non-SEC team because their conference isn't the SEC. That's a bunch of crap. I call a spade a spade and the last few years the SEC was the best conference and it was dominant. This year the SEC is down big time(see Florida) and while it is still the best conference it isn't anywhere near as dominant before. Especially if two crap teams from a year ago got good enough in a year to be the best in the SEC????? You kidding me. Kill all that FSU didn't play anybody crap. We heard that same stuff last year when UL was supposed to play Florida and UL mollywhopped them. The SEC was crap this year. Y'all know it. We all know it. So act like it. I hope wish and pray that Ohio State either loses or gets passed up by the SEC Crap Conference Title game winner so FSU can straight up murder you SEC loving homers in the title game. So Florida goes from 11-2 to Sucking and that brings the conference down...but Missouri and Auburn go from Sucking to 11-1 and that also brings the conference down also?
December 4, 201312 yr Author I also think that FSU has looked the best this season, but they do have a lower schedule strength than even OSU. Only played one top 30 team, but they have looked dominant in doing so this season. Right now I'd take FSU and give points against anyone in the country not named Alabama.
December 4, 201312 yr From the other thread So Florida goes from 11-2 to Sucking and that brings the conference down...but Missouri and Auburn go from Sucking to 11-1 and that also brings the conference down also? If Kentucky goes 11-1 next year does the SEC suck? Will it be down?
December 4, 201312 yr Author If Kentucky goes 11-1 next year does the SEC suck? Will it be down? Depends on the rest of the league, league doesn't rise and fall based on one teams season. BTW I'll be too drunk to care if the Cats go 11-1! And I quit Drinking!!!
December 4, 201312 yr The last time we had the "SEC is overrated" argument about which teams should play for the BCS Championship, it was in 2006 when it was an outright controversy that Ohio State wasn't playing a rematch with Michigan for the title. A one-loss Florida jumped a one-loss Michigan in the final poll and ran Ohio State out of the stadium for the championship. An SEC team has won every championship since then. Overrated or not it's hard to argue for a title game that snubs a one-loss SEC champion.
December 4, 201312 yr Auburns rise is no surprise to me. They still racked up top 10 recruiting classes year after year. Chizik was incompenent. There is so much talent in that roster it shouldn't surprise anyone. Mizzou has a heck if a roster too. Heck they have the number one overall recruit from a year ago. Just because it isn't UF, UGA, LSU, and Bama doesn't mean they aren't the top teams in the country.
December 4, 201312 yr If Kentucky goes 11-1 next year does the SEC suck? Will it be down? If KY goes 11-1 next year the SEC with from here out be referred to as the Mountain West Conference.
December 4, 201312 yr Depends on the rest of the league, league doesn't rise and fall based on one teams season. Yet SEC fans have been riding Alabama's (and before that Florida) coat tail for years now...
December 4, 201312 yr Yet SEC fans have been riding Alabama's (and before that Florida) coat tail for years now... And Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Texas AM...
December 4, 201312 yr If Kentucky goes 11-1 next year does the SEC suck? Will it be down? IF UK goes 11-1 next year we would have undisputable proof that God is an UK fan.
December 4, 201312 yr Here is where the SEC does take a hit. If the other conferences were so inferior, how do A&M and Mizzou come from the Big 12 and instantly compete at a high level? The curtain has been pulled back on that alone...
December 5, 201312 yr Author Everyone bashing the SEC is hanging their hat on the same thing, that Missouri and Texas A&M came in and were able to compete at the highest levels. Texas A&M first: They had arguably the best and most dominant player in their schools history last season (also the top player in college football) and lost two Conf Games to Florida and LSU. This season 8-4 with a 4-4 conf. record...competitive but not at a high level with 4 losses. Before anyone brings up that they beat National Champion Alabama last season, remember that UK beat LSU during their National Champion seasons a few years ago. Anything can happen. Anyone putting money on A&M after Johnny Football leaves? Missouri second: 2 and 6 conference record last season...this season great year kinda like the year Northwestern popped up in the Big 0 a few years ago...but they avoided Auburn, Alabama and LSU best win is over an 8-4 Georgia team that has fallen flat sever times this season. That said I think they have a shot at beating Auburn and winning the SEC, but then again even Duke, Purdue and Northwestern pop up to the top of a conference every 10-15 years.
