Trash the SEC Football thread

Featured Replies

I agree completely with you.

I have no issue with this thread at all.

I am responding only to the specific comment about not cheering for a conference. Almost everybody I know, cheers for their conference against other conferences.

I don't. I hate UNC and wouldn't cheer for them against anybody. I hate Maryland also. Hate NC State. Hate Clemson. Virginia Tech. Wake Forest. I like Duke and Florida State. I'll never cheer for any of those other teams in the ACC. Same goes for UL also. I won't cheer for them either when they arrive.

PP is counting his eggs before they hatch :lol2:

Yes I am. I am very confident in FSU winning this game. No more miracles for Auburn in the last minute of the game.

They may get some more Hangman in on the sidelines on Monday. Expect them to blow it open in the second quarter.

Right back at you. Never had a problem with Duke. Mostly just thought it was funny that UK fans hated them so much which even led to a little soft spot for them in my heart.

Not anymore.

I'm gonna make PP come to the first Duke game at the Yum and wear a Kevin Ware jersey. :lol2:

Good. We don't want your love. We don't need your compassion.

It is funny UK fans hate Duke so much though.

I'll make sure I have on sunglasses and a Swisher Sweet behind my ear waiting to get gutted.

You do. Check all the NCAA tournament threads and see how many people are cheering for the SEC teams.

For someone who claims people don't cheer for conferences, you sure do spend a lot of time spewing hate at the SEC and B1G.

I guess people aren't supposed to cheer for conferences, just against them.

Spewing hate. That's hilarious. :lol2:

I grew up a fan of Michigan, so I have a strong dislike of Ohio State. Other than that the B1G is of zero importance to me. I do hate the idiot faction of UK fans so getting under their skin has been a life long pleasure...

Also didn't help that I would never have cheered for UC, UConn, Pitt, West Virginia or Marquette... ever.

I guess this is where I'm different. I cheer for the SEC teams in both football & basketball 90% of the time (South Carolina in football is the only exception I can think of). There's definitely a lot more to cheer for in football, but I root for the SEC teams whenever I get the chance. I do the same with the 10th Region in HSBB & with Kentucky schools on the college level (UL being an exception there).

I also thought the SEC was somewhat down this year in football, but the bowls thus far have proven the conference is still king of the hill.

The reason you root for teams within your own conference, district, etc., generally, is because it elevates your own resume. Now there are exceptions in which you will never cheer for a rival, but for the most part you are rooting for your conference because it indirectly makes your own team look better.

With the SEC, I very much agree with this. Especially SEC football. :lol2:

The HSBB & state level programs are much more about geography.

Fair enough. But... as you well know... I'm what some might call a hater.

Agree on UNC.

On Maryland...I don't have much familiarity with their fan bases, but Maryland's has a reputation for being one of the nastiest in the country.

On NC State...Friends from college who were Duke or UNC people compared them to UL fans (the "little brother" complex). What say you?

Why the hate for Clemson? I'm assuming that's from the football side?

And there is nothing wrong with that. I'm still trying to get an invite to the Player Hater's Ball.

I was going to go last year but I called away...

...had to put some water in Bucknasty's mama's dish.
