Is there any team in that class that could play with them?

You'd have to give me their male enrollment, grades 9-11. I can figure it from there.

I agree wholeheartedly. Several people I've spoken to recently have said the distance is the deal-breaker in deciding whether or not to watch it on the Internet. Reading the admonitions from all these folks who travel in luxury RV's makes me cringe. If you die-hard tailgaters want to load up your rolling mansions and watch your big screens while enjoying a wine and cheese party, well then more power to ya. For the rest of us down here in the huddled masses, the trip is a drudge. :sorry:

BF, I understand that the extra 1 and 1/2 hours each way is more of an issue for you than it is for the typical fan. So if it causes you to pass on going to the game, that makes sense to me. I know you would be there if you could. But for others, if they aren't going because it is a drudge, I ask them to consider all the hours these young men have put into our community's football team, starting with weights and conditioning back in last December; the very hot practices during the summer; and continuing to the point where we are now. Talk about a drudge. That makes the extra distance to BG seem extremely minor, at least to me. We are going to the game to support the young men who have had the commitment and discipline to be able to wear the word "Highlands" across their chest. Nothing more; nothing less. If it turns out to be a blow out, making the game less enjoyable from a fan's perspective, I still want to be there showing my support for the players, particularly the seniors whom have given so much to my community's team over the last 4 years, and the coaches whom have given so much of their lives to make the dreams of so many kids come true. And if per chance it is a close game, I will want to be there even more showing my support and encouragement. I think I owe that to the players and coaches for all that they have done for my community's football team.

Why do people expect Highlands to shell out the money for buses? If people in Ft. Thomas want buses, they should do what Henry did for years and organize something themselves. And why is it just Highlands in the hot seat here. NewCath isn't shelling out money for their fans to ride down in buses and no one is calling them out? This thread is a bit ridiculous.

It's not a lack of enthusiasm. I'm just saying it's tough to drive several hours to watch a potential running clock in the second quarter. They shouldn't even have a running clock rule for a State Title game in the first place.

 

Agree with running clock. Just about every other sporting event excludes time management and points spreads in the Championship round. Maybe I'm wrong!
