November 13, 201312 yr If UK fans already couldn't hate Digger enough already, he acts like an idiot and pulls this. Does gameday come to Rupp this year?
November 13, 201312 yr Got to have Randle playing with his back to the basket in games like this. For the most part they did that in the 2nd half. And of course, the horrid free throw shooting. That'll bite UK if they don't correct that, because they're going to get to the FT line more than their opponents 95% of the time. Love Sparty though. Such a good team.
November 13, 201312 yr I thought WCS and Dakari struggled, and I feel like some of the issues they face were caused by the perimeter defense. WCS did have 7 boards and 4 blocks. A big plus I felt was seeing the emotion that Poythress played with 12 rebounds for him.
November 13, 201312 yr Last year's team had FT trouble too didn't they? Seems like a common problem. Calipari's teams have always struggled with the FT.
November 13, 201312 yr Last year's team had FT trouble too didn't they? Seems like a common problem. Most Cal teams have issues. Very weird
November 13, 201312 yr Like seeing what Poythress has done thus far. He's brought consistent energy 3 out of 3 games. And how about Keith Appling's 22 points, 7 boards, 7 assists, & 4 steals.
November 13, 201312 yr I'd like to add one more thing: Saw some flashes from Poythress tonight where I was like wow. I look for him to be a contributor down the stretch of the season. He should get more looks as it is almost certain Randle will get doubled every night. Isn't that the problem with Alex?
November 13, 201312 yr Isn't that the problem with Alex? I believe the problem with Alex was before, he would have a lethargic, "I don't care" attitude, whereas this year he is aggressive. He is playing like a 6'8'' forward should play. He will only continue to get better with the more looks he gets.
November 13, 201312 yr Lots of great points made in this forum. Bottom line, the experience showed and was the difference. I believe both teams will get better, obviously, but UK should progress more because the experience they gain against this caliber of competition will benefit them more than MSU. The Spartans have played tough competition through the years. There is no doubt that the freshmen played a team of players with this cohesion and experience they did not face in HS or AAU or whatever. Teams like the 4 playing tonight in Chicago play these type of games every year and that is why they are usually in the hunt at tourney time.
November 13, 201312 yr @kentuckysportsradio "We had guys crying in the locker room tonight. That's good. I want it to hurt when you lose". John Calipari
November 13, 201312 yr I won't be surprised to see Dakari starting over Wille by the end of the year. The kid is a beast down low Just needs to get his speed up but the effort is there. Also can't "arm bar" that'll hurt his minutes.
November 13, 201312 yr All 4 of the teams playing tonight could have long runs in March. For sure, all 4 look to be very good with a ton of talented players.
November 13, 201312 yr Somebody said in the "keys to the game" thread that UK needed to make 7 3-point shots. They made 4. If they had made 7, they win.
