November 13, 201312 yr (via @DaHurtLocktress) Julius Randle walked to the podium with Alex Poythress and John Calipari following the game, but trainers took him back to the locker room when he began cramping up in the front of the crowded media room. As Randle made his way back through the crowd, Calipari told him, “I told you to take yourself out.”
November 13, 201312 yr Sporting News ✔ @sportingnews Follow How many Spartans does it take to guard Julius Randle?
November 13, 201312 yr @KyleTucker_CJ Only Cotton Nash, Dan Issel, and Julius Randle have had at least 22 points and at least 13 rebounds in 3 straight games at UK
November 13, 201312 yr :thumb: Did anyone else notice Julius when the game was over. He was passing players to get to the locker room. Was upset they lost. He hates to loose more than most any player I have ever seen. Digger doesn't know who he was messing with....... :thumb: Yes, I did and I love a guy that hates to lose. I hate to lose, always have-always will and frankly, if there was anyone that was "o.k. with losing", then I don't want them on my team.
November 13, 201312 yr BTW....About the comments on Digger, I would remind Mr. Phelps that the only thing that he knows about Kentucky Basketball is that he couldn't beat them.

November 13, 201312 yr UK needs to work on free throws, transition defense/offense, passing and limiting turnovers. Still a great game.
November 13, 201312 yr Major concern I have is Cauley-Stein. He CANNOT continue to disappear in games like this. I know he is not a banger in the post, but his presence needs to be felt other wise he is just taking up space and I know Dakari will be chomping at the bit. WCS doesn't box out, and isn't physical enough. I hope he can figure it out. I just think WCS has a bad feel for the game. I do not think it is a matter of effort or playing scared.
November 13, 201312 yr Saw a lot of things I really liked, a few things I didn't, namely the Harrison twins attitudes. It's a learning process, and this team still has a ways to go, but I really liked what I saw overall. After watching the two games last night, it's clear to me, that the national champion is coming from the UK, Michigan State, Duke, Kansas, and UofL group. Those teams are on a different level IMO. I can't see a team outside of those other 4 really giving the Cats much of a game. :idunno: Randle is just a beast. His last bucket they had 3 guys on him, and he went right up, over, and through all 3 for an easy two. :lol2:
November 13, 201312 yr Oh, and the biggest winner of the night was definitely the Phoenix Suns. They have 4 first round picks next year, which includes a couple lottery picks. If I'm an NBA team that has no realistic shot at the postseason, I'm trading away as much as possible and stockpiling the picks and tanking like it's never been done before. This draft class is absolutely loaded. Randle and Parker would be NBA starters right now IMO. Wiggins possibly too.
November 13, 201312 yr Somebody said in the "keys to the game" thread that UK needed to make 7 3-point shots. They made 4. If they had made 7' date=' they win.[/quote'] How about that prediction? If UK hits 7 they edge State by about 3. Clearly Randle is gonna do his thing down low but we need some outside shooting to compliment it.

There's also Florida who may end up being a good team when they get all of their guys playing.
November 13, 201312 yr Hats off to Michigan State, they have a pair of guards that are going to be a tough duo with Harris and Appling all year. Payne really seemed to improve his game. UK was fortunate to get him in foul trouble. When the game was over I was pretty frustrated with the loss. Way too many mental mistakes. Too many dumb turnovers. Free throws. However, when I let it soak in and talked with my buddy this morning, who is a huge Michigan fan, I'm definitely encouraged by what we saw last night. I love Randle's fight. He really is a warrior (I said that before Bilas haha). We just have to get that attitude spread amongst the rest of the guys. He's unguardable with the new rules. Really like what I saw from James Young in the first half when no one else could get things done. Lastly, stop with the Polson should play. He wasn't going to get anything done for us last night. But MJ, "he probably would have at least got back in transition". You're right and got put on a poster by somebody. I love the kid, but he has no business playing in those games. I think you'll see more of Hawkins moving forward, as we did last night. November games simply don't matter. It was a fun one to watch, but it's all good in the Commonwealth.
November 13, 201312 yr Somebody said in the "keys to the game" thread that UK needed to make 7 3-point shots. They made 4. If they had made 7, they win. Or the guy who said if they hit a good percentage from the stripe lol.

Could also say if they shoot only 12 triples as opposed to the 20 they hoisted, those extra 8 shots inside the arc probably result in at least 4 additional points. This team is not a three point shooting team. They should never be taking that many threes. Attack the rim and feed the "beast", and they'll win 99% of the time.
