If UK fans already couldn't hate Digger enough already' date=' he acts like an idiot and pulls this. Does gameday come to Rupp this year?[/quote']

I don't know whether or not I hope for Phelps sake that it doesn't or that I REALLY hope it does.

Like seeing what Poythress has done thus far. He's brought consistent energy 3 out of 3 games. And how about Keith Appling's 22 points' date=' 7 boards, 7 assists, & 4 steals.[/quote']

Hell of a game by Appling. Hell of a game.

All 4 of the teams playing tonight could have long runs in March.

And ESPN is cashing in on that right now. $$$$$$$

Interesting. I wasn't nervous at all because this game is all about getting better. Of course you want to win' date=' but I was much more interested in seeing how the players and team handled matchups and situations. The thing that really struck me tonight was the sheer size of UK. They are so big that is going to be a problem for other teams all year long.[/quote']

Not going to lie when they started to come back the palms started getting a little sweaty. :lol2:

The way they had played the first half I thought Mich St. would keep it 8+ for the rest of the game. Once Kentucky gave them the six points back to start the second half I figured Sparty would coast it on out. Love the fight they showed to get back into it, doing it on pure talent alone. Spacing was horrible the entire night, not really any kind of offensive flow to speak of, but still they somehow almost freestyled a win over perhaps the best team in the country. It was exciting to watch, primarily Randle. They had no business even being in that game so they almost gutted it out on talent and heart alone. Once some of the little things start to click it's going to be scary.

@kentuckysportsradio "We had guys crying in the locker room tonight. That's good. I want it to hurt when you lose". John Calipari

Dang. I love UK basketball, it's just a different animal.

Somebody said in the "keys to the game" thread that UK needed to make 7 3-point shots. They made 4. If they had made 7' date=' they win.[/quote']

Cats were very cold in the first half. Also didn't get a lot of finishing fouls that they did in the first two games. It'll work itself out in time.

Most Cal teams have issues. Very weird

It's because they don't practice them. Cal said he doesn't waste practice time to shoot free throws but that they should do it after practice or on their own time.

Free throws could have made this a different ball game. They were bad.

Dang. I love UK basketball, it's just a different animal.

That shows heart, and that's a great thing. Heart and Hustle with the talent

UK has will go a long way with the talent they have.

I'm a little worried about the Harrison Twins. They seem to feed off each other. If one is having a bad game the other will too.

I feel like the twins have some growing up to do, just the reaction to fouls and

getting back on defense looked to me like they're not used to that. The kids have

good size and can take a bump I think they'll be fine just need to get used to the college

game.

Some growing up to do? If by "some" you meant "a lot", I agree...

I agree with you on them growing up mentally; they have the tools to be

really good just have to wrap their head around it.

18 - 36 FT's.......Terrible

2 - 21 Fast Break pt's, transition defense....Terrible

U.K. Lost by 4, missed 18 FT, outscored by 19 on fast break. = 37pt difference, Any Questions ?

I didn't even mention the turnovers, not sure but I think we had around 18. The Cats were intimidated by the big stage vs. a very good and experienced MSU team. U.K. is in no way a number 1 team, I think that we all, or most knew that. MSU is imo very deserving of the lofty ranking. They will very likely be a final4 team.

I believe that like the other Calapari teams (except for last season) that this team will be far better in January than they are now. There right now is a need to work and work hard on transition defense and do I even need to mention free throw shooting ?

I believe that like the other Calapari teams (except for last season) that this team will be far better in January than they are now. There is absolutely no need to push the panic button, I absolutely believe that Cal will get things fixed and I look for the Cats to be Big Factor come March.

UK had some flashes of what the can become in the 2nd half, but even then they didn't look all that good. YET. And with that said it was still a game down to the wire against the best team in the country right now.

There isn't a guy in the country that can guard Julius Randle man up. Not one. Anywhere...

:thumb:

@KySportsRadio: Outside UK locker room Digger Phelps stops Randle and screams "hey Strickland, u gonna teach these guys free throws." Randle NOT amused

Did anyone else notice Julius when the game was over. He was passing players to get to the locker room. Was upset they lost. He hates to loose more than most any player I have ever seen. Digger doesn't know who he was messing with.......
